Rohit Sharma Takes Off To Maldives Ahead Of IPL 2025

Rohit Sharma, the Indian test and ODI (one day internationals) cricket team captain, has gone to Maldives with his family ahead of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025. IPL starts from March 22, 2025, and Rohit Sharma will likely join the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp shortly. Sharma led India to the ICC (International Cricket Council) Champions Trophy 2025 title recently. To relax and take some time off cricket, Rohit went to Maldives with his family. He has been sharing stories from the location on his Instagram profile. Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh and his daughter are also with him.

Rohit Sharma Likely to Open Again for MI in IPL 2025

Rohit Sharma, the ex-captain of Mumbai Indians will likely continue to open the innings for the franchise in the upcoming season of IPL. MI’s first match of IPL 2025 is set to take place in Chennai against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 23, 2025. MI vs CSK is always a treat to watch for the cricket fans as these two are the most successful franchises in the history of the tournament.

Rohit Sharma will play under Hardik Pandya yet again. Pandya was named the captain of MI in 2024 and this got the fans super angry. This season, however, Pandya is expected to get all the love from the fans while Rohit will also likely feel more confident in playing T20 cricket after winning two ICC trophies as a captain in the last few months. Rohit led team India to the ICC T20i World Cup trophy in 2024. Sharma has now announced that he won’t retire any time soon from the ODI format of the game, and will also likely bee named the test captain for the upcoming series against England.

After the IPL 2025 finishes, India will take off to England for a tour where multiple test matches will be played.
