The Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians side beat the Delhi Capitals in the 2020 IPL final which happened at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium couple of days back. Mumbai became only the second side after Chennai Super Kings to successfully defend their title in successive years. They not only defended the title but also managed to win the title in an even year as Mumbai Indians have been winning the title on all odd years since 2013 when they first won the title.
After winning the title in 2013, they went on to win the title in 2015,2017 and 2019 which is why people always regarded Mumbai Indians as the team of the odd years but this year they have managed to break the apparent odd year jinx as they went on to win the title in an even year.
Inki Toh Ginti Galat Hai – Rohit Sharma
The even-year championship win happened when Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets with 8 balls to spare marking the fifth IPL title as captain for Rohit Sharma from his overall record of 6 titles including the one which came for Deccan Chargers in 2009.

Prior to the start of the 2020 IPL season, Rohit Sharma featured in a Star Sports commercial which is based on how Mumbai Indians have been winning the title on odd years but haven’t managed to win in an even year. That is when Rohit Sharma chips in by saying “Inki toh ginti galat” justifying how the 2020 IPL season is going to be the 13th edition of the coveted championship wherein 13 is an odd number.
After winning the title couple of days back, Rohit Sharma went on to share the video of the commercial on Twitter and stated how Mumbai managed to win in an even year this time, further quoting his dialogue from the commercial.
“We indeed went even this season. Bola tha aapko mamu inki ganit weak hai,” Rohit Sharma wrote on Twitter.
