Veteran New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor, who has been a key figure to their consistent performance over the decade. Taylor achieved an impressive record when he stepped on to the field during New Zealand's first of the two-match Test series against India at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
Taylor, who has served the country with utmost honesty became the first cricketer to play 100 international matches in all the three formats. No player from both genders hasn't played 100 games in all the formats. Recently, Ross Taylor featured in his 100 T20I when he stepped onto the field during the fifth T20I against India on February 2 while the experienced batsman has featured in 231 ODIs for New Zealand.

The 35-year-old has scored 8570 runs in the 50-over format with an average of 48.69 while he amassed 1909 runs in the shortest format of the game. In the longest format of the game, he has scored 7174 runs with an average of 46.28 including 19 tons and 33 fifties.
Meanwhile, host New Zealand have taken an upper hand in the morning session of the first Test at the Basin Reserve. While Tim Southee provided the first breakthrough removing Prithvi Shaw after opting to bowl first, debutant Kyle Jamieson then ran down India's batting order to have them at 101 for five. He removed Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli before returning back to scalp Hanuma Vihari's wicket, who came into this game on the back of century.
After a poor start, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant are trying to bail India out and look to play big knocks. They have added 21 runs for the sixth wicket before the players went for tea with the visitors still struggling at 122 for five.
