The star Indian batter Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the ongoing Royal One-day International Cup played in England. He was playing for Northamptonshire and looked in sublime touch during the four matches he played during this tournament.

Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury that he suffered while fielding during the match against Durham. His performance was simply amazing with some breath-taking batting show.

“In his short stint, Prithvi has made a huge impact on us as a club. It’s a huge shame he won’t be with us for the remainder of this competition” Northamptonshire head coach John Sadler said in a statement. “He’s an extremely humble young man, he’s very respectful and had been so grateful for the opportunity to represent Northamptonshire.”

His injury is worse than expected according to a statement released by Northamptonshire. Shaw is being monitored by the BCCI team and will meet specialists for the injury in London on Friday.

It is a major blow for the Northamptonshire side that looked solid in the form of Prithvi Shaw. His absence would create a hole in the opening and will be hard to replicate his skills. Depending upon recovery, Shaw will feature during the domestic Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
