Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) captain and batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named the captain of India A for their upcoming series against Australia. The squad for the tour was revealed on Monday, October 21. Gaikwad previously led the India ‘C’ team in the 2024 Duleep Trophy, achieving a win, a draw, and a loss.
They narrowly missed the title after being defeated by India ‘A’ in their final match. Despite this, Gaikwad received accolades for his leadership. He is also captaining Maharashtra in the ongoing 2024 Ranji Trophy. Bengal’s Abhimanyu Easwaran will serve as the vice-captain of the India A team.
He is included as one of the openers for the tour, alongside Sai Sudharsan. Ishan Kishan and Abishek Porel have been chosen as wicketkeepers, while the bowling lineup features Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal, Navdeep Saini, Manav Suthar, and Tanush Kotian.

India A will compete in two first-class matches and one intrasquad game during their tour of Australia
India A will face Australia A in two first-class matches and will also compete against the Indian team participating in the 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Their first match is scheduled at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay from October 31 to November 3, followed by a second match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from November 7 to 10.
Additionally, the India A squad will play a warm-up game against the Team India squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, set for November 15-17 at the WACA in Perth.
