Sachin & Sourav want this Indian legend to coach India

As BCCI is hunting for a new coach there is a big news coming in as the Advisory Committee of Ganguly, Laxman and Tendulkar are not too keen on replacing Kumble.

BCCI invited applications from interested candidates in the month of May. Anil Kumble”s name was automatically drafted in while Virender Sehwag, Lalchand Rajput, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus and Dodda Ganesh threw their hats in the ring. The last date to submit application was 31st May.

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of legendary batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman is handed over the responsibility of selecting India”s coach. It”s upto CAC to decide whether to conduct interviews of the candidates or renew Kumble”s contract.

The CAC are conducting an internal meeting on Thursday want Kumble to be retained as the coach of Team India. They were the same ones who picked him in June 2016.
The scheduled meeting of CAC will commence post-midnight (IST) with CEO Rahul Johri expected to co-ordinate the meeting.

“Whether it is Anil Kumble retained or anyone else roped in, whoever gets the job will be given a contract till 2019 World Cup,” acting BCCI president CK Khanna quoted.

“On one hand, team has had great performances under Kumble. If the team reaches semi-final or say final, the BCCI would cut a sorry figure if they are forced to replace Kumble.
On the other hand, cricket teams are essentially run by captains. One needs to respect a captain”s viewpoint also. It”s a catch-22 situation for CAC members,” a BCCI official was quoted saying.

“Virat has never come and told any BCCI official that he doesn”t want to work with Kumble. And moreover if Kumble and Virat don”t get along, what is the guarantee that Viru (Sehwag) and Virat will be on the same page. Everyone in Indian cricketing circuit knows that Sehwag is also a no-nonsense person,” the source said.

Virender Sehwag submitted a strange 2 line CV saying “Mentor od KXIP, played with these boys before.” It is believed this CV invited displeasure and severely dents his chances.

Tom Moody having spent lot of time with Sunrisers Hyderabad is a strong contender should CAC decide to go with a foreign coach.
