Sachin Tendulkar To Receive BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is expected to receive the prestigious Colonel CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the BCCI‘s annual event, ‘Naman,’ on Saturday, February 1, as reported by ‘The Times of India’. The award was last presented to Farokh Engineer and Ravi Shastri in 2023.

Tendulkar remains the highest run-scorer in cricket history across both Test and ODI formats. While this honor is well-deserved, many believe it has come later than expected. He retired in 2013 with an impressive tally of 15,921 Test runs and 18,426 ODI runs.

At 51, Tendulkar holds numerous records, including being the only batter to score 100 international centuries—49 in ODIs and 51 in Tests. He also became the first player to score a double century in an ODI, achieving the milestone against South Africa in Gwalior in 2010.

While the legendary Sunil Gavaskar embodied the resilience of Indian cricket, proving that India could stand firm against opposition, his illustrious successor, Sachin Tendulkar, demonstrated that India could not only compete but also assert dominance and fight back.

Many people regard Sachin Tendulkar as the ultimate legend of cricket

In addition to these records, Tendulkar holds the distinction of being the only player in history to have played the most Test matches—200—leaving the game with pride, showered with admiration and support from his teammates and fans. For many, he is revered as the ‘God’ of cricket.

Arguably the most naturally gifted batter of his generation, Tendulkar was also the most disciplined. His remarkable mental resilience was evident when, recognizing a flaw in his cover drive, he refrained from playing the shot entirely while scoring 241 against Australia in the 2003-04 Sydney Test.

Beyond his extraordinary cricketing abilities, Tendulkar won hearts with his humility and modesty. Known for his soft-spoken and respectful demeanor, the Mumbai-born legend was always seen with a smile, making time for his fans and offering kind words to those who idolized him.
