Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram named his combined India-Pakistan all-time ODI XI recently. He picked the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and four other Indian players in the team. India versus Pakistan is among the most intense and passionate rivalries in world cricket.

In his combined India-Pakistan all-time ODI XI, Wasim Akram picked Saeed Anwar and Virender Sehwag as the openers. He further picked Sachin Tendulkar Javed Miandad and Virat Kohli in the batting order. Talking on Fox Cricket, Wasim Akram said,

“I will start off with a lefty from Pakistan Saeed Anwar. I think he got 19 ODI hundreds, not the best fielders but as a batter one of the best Pakistan has produced – an all-round player.

“Will pick Virender Sehwag to open with him. Again, a dashing player is one of my favourites. He changed the mindset of an opener in Test cricket. Before Sehwag, it used to be three slips and a gully – Sehwag started just whacking everyone, got a couple of triple-hundreds,” he added.

Kapil Dev is one of my favourite persons, my hero: Wasim Akram

Former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram also named India’s World Cup-winning skippers Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni in the team. He expressed that Kapil Dev is one of his favourites and his hero. Akram named former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan as the captain of the combined all-time ODI cricket XI of India and Pakistan players.

Number six, it’s Imran Khan for me, batting at number six and skipper obviously. And then, of course, another great, one of my favourite persons, my hero – Kapil Dev,” said Wasim Akram to Fox Cricket.
