“Sammy And I Learning The Art Of Discipline From Rohit Sharma” – Shubman Gill Shares Picture With Rohit Sharma Despite Rumors Of A Fallout

Team India batter Shubman Gill recently posed with Rohit Sharma, dispelling rumors of any rift between them. Over the past week, reports had emerged online suggesting that Gill had unfollowed Rohit on Instagram after being released from the Indian squad in the USA.

Gill was not in the main 15-man squad but was one of the four reserve players traveling with the team. As the Men in Blue’s group stage campaign wrapped up this weekend, reports surfaced that the BCCI instructed Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan to return to India.

Meanwhile, Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed will remain available as traveling reserves if needed. Amidst these developments, Shubman Gill posted a few pictures on his official Instagram handle featuring himself with Rohit Sharma, suggesting there are no issues between them.

Rohit’s daughter, Samaira Sharma, also appears in the photos. Gill captioned the post:

“Sammy and I learning the art of discipline from @rohitsharma45.”

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will open for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup, ahead of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill

The selectors chose to rely on experienced players, selecting Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as openers for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Consequently, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been moved to the bench, and Shubman Gill did not make the 15-man squad.

The pair has yet to deliver in the tournament, struggling against the new ball in challenging batting conditions in New York. Rohit scored a half-century in the first match against Ireland but failed in the subsequent two games. Kohli has had a poor run, scoring 1, 4, and 0 in the three matches.

Former West Indies captain Brian Lara recently supported the veteran duo to continue as openers for the remainder of the tournament. In a discussion on Star Sports, Lara stated:

“Definitely, India had the option to play a left-right opening partnership. They went with two great players, two guys who’ve done a great job for India with the bat for their individual franchise as well in terms of the captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.”

“I think they’ve got to stick with it as you just said if you do make changes on top, Virat Kohli has to come in the order a little bit lower and that’s going to upset things there.”
