Sanjay Manjrekar has often been criticised for his style of commentary. Manjrekar last year landed his self in trouble for his ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer remark on all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took strict action against the former India batsman and omitted him from the commentary panel towards the end of the season.
According to a report in The Times Of India, the former cricketer has written a second email to the BCCI and has again applied for the position as a commentator. Manjrekar wants to continue as a commentator in the upcoming Indian Premier League season.

The 55-year-old has assured the board to work according to their guidelines and has also apologized for his controversy which led to him losing his job. BCCI will soon be announcing the commentary panel of IPL 2020 which will take place in UAE later this year.
“Respected members of the Apex Council, hope you all keeping well. You are already in receipt of the email I sent to explain my position as a commentator.”
“I will be happy to work as per the guidelines laid by you. After all, we are working on what is essentially your production. Last time maybe there was not enough clarity on this issue. Thanks very much, Regards,” Manjrekar wrote in his email to BCCI.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja wasn’t impressed by the remarks made by Sanjay Manjrekar during the World Cup last year. The statement inspired Jadeja in the world cup semi-finals as he celebrated his fifty while pointing at Manjrekar.
However, the two have now buried the hatchet as Jadeja also commented on Manjrekar’s tweet earlier this year. The report in TOI also adds that Sunil Gavaskar, who celebrated his 71st birthday earlier this month, will fly to UAE for the commentary duties.
