Australia came out all guns blazing in the first test against South Africa as they secure a comprehensive win by 118 runs.
Though Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock were on a rescue mission to chase 417, Mitchell starc was too hot to handle for the hosts. He picked four wickets in the second innings in addition to a five-wicket haul in the first.
The trio of Amla, Faf, and ABD failed miserably and this made the visitors run over the line-up and secure a comfortable win.
Mitchell marsh – A boon for the middle order.
After his controversial recall for the third Ashes test at the WACA, Mitch has been phenomenal scoring a truckload of runs. He executed the same meticulously amassing 96 in the first innings.
Mitch with his elder brother Shaun has been doing the things right for the middle order and this has been a key factor in the squad.
Controversies
Footages of Warner yelling at QDK during the tea break went viral and this raised several questions regarding the sportsmanship involved in the game.
Nathan Lyon was charged 50% of the match fee by ICC for throwing the ball at AB de Villiers after his runout.
Mitchell star was awarded the MOM.
Durban – Unlucky???
South Africa have lost six out of the last eight tests played at Durban.
The next test will be played at Port Elizabeth on March 9.
