Sehwag shuts down Piers Morgan on twitter after the loss in WC final

England lifted the prestigious trophy for the fourth time after beating India by nine runs in a close encounter. Though India was in a superior position, a terrific spell from Anay Shrubsole ruined India’s dreams of lifting the cup for the first time after failed in 2005.

UK based journalist Piers Morgan took to twitter to tease former Indian opener Virender Sehwag after the women’s in blue fell short of nine runs. He wrote on Twitter, “You OK, buddy @virendersehwag ?” followed by three laughing emoticons adding to the mockery.

Giving a strong reply to Morgan’s sarcasm, Sehwag wrote, “Me and all of India prouder even in this loss than you can ever be mate. We fought well & will only get better & stronger. Enjoy for a change!”

The fiery opener from Delhi earlier congratulated the Indian team for their stellar performance throughout the tournament. He wrote on his official twitter handle, “Super proud of the girls. Tough luck today but women’s cricket in India has truly arrived. Thank you, girls. Salute your spirit.” The praise poured in from all corner for the Indian team despite losing the final.

However, The Nawab was involved in twitter repartee with Morgan earlier when the latter commented about India’s performance in Rio Olympics 2016.

He wrote on Twitter, “Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarrassing is that?” replying to a tweet that mentioned how the two medalists were welcomed in the country. It did not go well with the hard-hitting batsman and Sehwag in his usual self, gave him a befitting reply saying, “We cherish every small happiness’, But Eng who invented Cricket, & yet2win a WC, still continue to play WC. Embarrassing?”
