Pakistan and Afghanistan locked horns in their last warm-up game at the Gabba on Wednesday, October 18, before their T20 World Cup campaigns begin. Shaheen Afridi, who recently returned from injury, sent warnings to the batters with a toe-crushing yorker.
Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bowl in this game. Afridi was ready to showcase his skills with the new ball, and he did. He bowled a fiery six balls, which included a toe-crushing Yorker to Rahmatullah Gurbaz to trap him in front of the stumps.
This ball seemed to have injured Gurbaz, and he was seen in pain after being hit on his left boot. The pain was so excruciating that he had to be carried off the field.
Here’s the video of the toe-crushing yorker by Afridi:

Shaheen Afridi picked up the wicket of Gurbaz’s opening partner Hazratullah Zazai, reducing the Afghans to 11-2. Afridi has sent a statement to the Indian top order that he has regained full match fitness and is back for Pakistan with the new ball.
Pakistan-Afghanistan washed out due to rain
Afghanistan ended up with a total of 154/6 courtesy of their captain, Mohammad Nabi, scoring a half-century. However, rain played spoilsport, and therefore no result could be achieved.
Even though a result wasn’t achieved, Pakistan will be happy with the way Shaheen Afridi bowled today, which is a massive plus for them, given how paramount he is to the team’s plans in Australia.
Pakistan lost their previous warm-up game against England by 6 wickets and came into this game to get a few positives before starting their campaign. The Afghans won their previous warm-up game against Bangladesh by a margin of 62 runs.
