Shahid Afridi will captain the ICC World XI in the absence of Eoin Morgan

Windies will lock horns with the World XI on May 31 at Lord”s, London. The match is a fundraiser for the renovation of grounds at several locations in Westindies which were devastated by the hurricanes (Irma and Maria) last year.

While, the squads for the windies and World XI have been announced a few weeks back, minor changes have been made to it. England limited-overs specialist Adil Rashid has been added to the squad. Indian speedster Mohammed Shami will also join the camp as a replacement for Hardik Pandya who is affected by a viral infection.

Adil Rashid will be the second English player in the squad after skipper Eoin Morgan. With his wrist spin, he can be a vital factor in providing breakthroughs. On the other hand, Shami will be joining Dinesh Karthik as his partner from India.

Eoin Morgan has been forced to pull out of the ICC World XI squad for T20I against West Indies at Lord”s due to a fractured finger And He will be replaced as captain by former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi.

It is to be noted that Bangladesh star Shakib – Al-Hasan withdrew due to personal reasons and Sandeep Lamichhane was announced as his replacement couple of weeks back.

The match will be played on May 31st at London, 10:30 PM(IST). Windies, the two-time champions will be trying to come out all guns blazing to collect maximum funds for their stadiums.
