Delhi Capitals recently were involved in a very heated exchange with the umpires over a decision during their game against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Delhi’s assistant coach Shane Watson has finally opened up on the unwanted turn of events, saying that those few minutes were extremly chaotic.

In the final over of the game, Delhi needed an improbable 36 from six balls. Rovman Powell, the tall and hard hitter from the West Indies, scored three sixes from the first three balls to put Rajasthan under pressure. On the third ball, which was hit for a six was a full toss. The umpires were happy with the delivery that led to unease in the Delhi Capitals camp since the no-ball could have changed the course of the match.

Shane Watson was trying to calm things down and was seen trying to stop the DC camp from doing anything stupid. Later on, a picture surfaced where Watson is seeing talking to Rishabh Pant in anger and Pant’s head is down in disgust. Talking to the Grade Crricketer’s Podcast, Shane Watson revealed:

“Yeah, I’ve seen that meme of me talking to Rishabh with my hand out. It got a little bit of coverage! It was chaotic for those couple of minutes. It was pretty hard. But in the end, it is what it is. There are times when either side isn’t always happy with some decisions. So, you got to get on with it.”

“But you look back at all those couple of minutes and saw the difference in all the parts that happened around. And Ricky Ponting not being there as well, didn’t help direct the ship. In a way, it was a perfect storm where things got out of hand,” Watson added.
