The IPL trading window is on a full swing and franchises are trying to make the best possible deals to seal the title in the upcoming edition. While Mumbai, Punjab, Bangalore have actively participated till now, here”s a news from the Sunrisers camp.
After a lot of speculations, Shikhar Dhawan has now been traded to Delhi Daredevils in favour of Nadeem, Vijay Shankar and Abhishek Sharma. While there were rumours on the air that there might be possibilities of trading Dhawan to Punjab or Mumbai, this deal has nearly formulated a solid top order for the Daredevils.
Shikhar Dhawan was reportedly unhappy with his stay at Sunrisers as the management chose to retain him for a price lower than 2017 edition which accounted to 5.2 crores.
Reports suggest that Shikhar Dhawan was traded for a sum of 11 crores for which the Delhi management had no hesitation in releasing three of their trustable players. Abhishek Sharma showed his class as a reliable all-rounder in his debut game in the 2018 edition. Vijay Shankar has already represented Sunrisers in the past and it will be interesting how the franchise can avail the services of him and Nadeem.
Shikhar Dhawan will now join the top order, which already has the likes of Pant, Shaw and Shreyas Iyer. He played the inaugural edition of the cash-rich league for the same franchise and he is back to the hut after a period of eleven years.
With a hard-hitting top-order, this would be the best time for Daredevils to come out in flying colours. But is the franchise looking to unlock better deals for bowlers? Only time will tell.
