Shubman Gill awed everyone with his mature knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020. After missing out in the first match the gifted batsman looked prepared to make a winning contribution. Gill did just that as he anchored the chase and scored 70* off 62 and was awarded the man of the match.

Shubman Gill Will Be Leading An IPL Side In Two Years- Simon Doull
Now, Simon Doull has come ahead and admitted that the 21-year-old Gill will be leading an IPL side in the next 2 years. Doull was impressed with the maturity and calmness Gill showed and stayed not out till the very end.

Meanwhile, Simon Doull added that Gill is surely a future leader and he will learn a lot from the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan and coach Brendon MucCullum in the KKR setup.
“I think Eoin Morgan had the best ally on the other end in Shubman. So, the experience and calm nature of Morgan was supported well by the youthful exuberance of Shubman. He kept his head in place and I think it was a very very fine innings,” he added.
“I won’t be surprised if we see him leading an IPL side two years down the line at the ripe age of 22-23. I think he should spend a lot of time with Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan and pick their brains. He also has Brendon McCullum, one of the most innovative captains in the last 7-9 years. I think he can learn a lot if he is around these guys,” Doull said on Shubman Gill.
Moreover, the KKR management has already hinted about Gill be closely associated with the leadership group this year. The current Kolkata skipper Dinesh Karthik currently wants Gill to enjoy his cricket and when the time is right he will lead KKR in IPL.
