After losing the first T20I, the Sri Lanka team will be eager to make a comeback and level the three-match series. The second T20I is all set to take place on Tuesday, July 27 at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
In the first match, the Sri Lankan batting failed to make a mark and handed India a 38-run victory. After winning the toss they asked the Indian team to bat first. Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan’s 36-ball 46 and Suryakumar Yadav’s 34-ball 50 took India to a total of 164 in the first innings.
The Sri Lankan bowlers performed decently as Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga picked up two wickets each. But their batting could not survive Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s magical spell. He took four wickets in 3.3 overs at an economy rate of 6.3.

Heading into the second T20I, both sides will be skeptical of their performance in the first match. The Indian team will be worried about the form of it’s middle-order whereas the Sri Lankan team has major injury concerns to deal with along with their lackluster performance. Bhanu Rajapaksha has been ruled out of the series, while Charith Aslanka is a doubtful starter.
No end to Sri Lanka’s troubles it seems. Bhanuka Rajapaksa ruled out of the series. Charith Asalanka doubtful with hamstring injury. Team waiting on scan results. Pathum Nissanka got hit in the arm in the nets yesterday and he too is doubtful.

Despite the loss in the first T20I, the Indian team should not take Sri Lanka lightly. As proved in the ODI series, they have the ability to punch about their weight. With the series at stake, both the teams will come out all guns blazing for the second T20I on Tuesday.
