SL vs IND 2021: “Some nice memories and some bitter ones” – Sanju Samson Reacts After End Of Sri Lanka Series

Shikhar Dhawan-led India lost the 3rd and final T20I game against Sri Lanka by 7 wickets. Meanwhile with the loss in the third encounter India also the T20I series against Sri Lanka after a long period. India won the first game of the 3-match T20I series but lost the 2nd and 3rd match to eventually lose the series. Notably, India played the last two games of the limited over series with the C team of India.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson shared a picture with teammates from the Sri Lanka series along with a message. Notably, India played the 2nd and 3rd T20I games with only 5 batsmen in the team. The reason behind this was Covid-19 spread in Indian camps.

As Krunal Pandya was tested positive for COVID-19 and there were a total of 8 players who were in close contact with him. The list of players includes Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Prithvi Shaw, Deepak Chahar, K Gowtham, Ishan Kishan, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Manish Pandey.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson shared a picture on his official Twitter handle. In the photos, he was seen with Shikhar Dhawan, Navdeep Saini, and debutant Sandeep Warrier. Wicketkeeper Samson wrote:

“Some nice memories and some bitter ones, that’s the way of life and this wonderful game!! Respecting and being grateful to everything happening around… The JOURNEY continues.”

Shikhar Dhawan-led India performed exceptionally in the ODI series winning the first two games of the 3-match series. However, India faced a defeat after making 6 changes in the third ODI. Meanwhile In the T20I India played the first game with the best XI, however, due to the virus spread, they entered the next two games with a weaker side.

While reviewing the 3rd and final T20I match between India and Sri Lanka Chopra criticised the Indian batting unit. Also, Aakash Chopra expressed his disappointment with Sanju Samson’s batting. He feels Samson had missed a golden opportunity.

“We always say about Sanju Samson that he is a very talented player, looks very attractive while batting and so on. In Thursday’s match, he came in to bat in the fifth over. He should have scored runs. Samson played four consecutive matches. The other youngsters were in and out of the playing XI but Samson got a longer run without a gap. He played the last ODI and all three T20Is. Sanju Samson will regret this, he let a great opportunity slip,” Aakash Chopra said.
