Smriti Mandhana achieves her best rankings in Women”s ODI Batting Rankings

Indian teen sensation batter and opener Smriti Mandhana reached her best ever rankings of number 4 in the latest ICC ODI women’s ODI rankings for batters announced by ICC. The stylish left-handed batter climbed to 10 places with her man of the series performance against England in the recently concluded ODI series.

Smriti Mandhana made her ODI debut in 2013 against Bangladesh. Since then she had played 40 ODI’s and scored 1,411 runs with the top score of 135. The young teen sensation also played in the prestigious women’s Big Bash League. In the 2017 Women’s World Cup, Smriti scored 90 runs against England in the opening match and helped India stun hosts England by 36 runs.

The Indian women’s team won the 3 match ODI series 2-1. Mandhana scored 181 runs in the 3 matches and provided stability at top of the order. In 2018, the opener has shown great scoring 531 runs in 9 One day internationals with the top score of 135. Along with she has 5 half centuries to her name. Smriti Mandhana has been the backbone of the Indian team since the ICC World Championship series against South Africa their own den in February, also did well in the home series against tough opponents Australia and England.

Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry occupies the top spot with 744 points. New Zealand Suzie Bates also is at number 2 in ODI batter rankings for women.

Meg Lanning had a decent ODI Series against India and comes at number 3 with 684 points. The young Smriti Mandhana with a great series against England has jumped to number 4.

Australia left-handed batter Nicole Botton has slipped one place down to number 5th. New Zealand Amy Satterthwaite also comes one place down to 6th in the rankings.

Indian team ODI captain Mithali Raj with decent performance in ODI series jumps to number 7th. West Indies Stafaine Taylor slips down to number 8th.

Lizelle Lee remains at number 9th while her counterpart Migon du Preez completes the top 10 ranking batters in women’s ODI.

Deepti Sharma also jumps to number 3 in the latest ICC women’s all-rounder rankings. She climbs to number 14th in the latest ODI bowlers ranking. Ellyse Perry and West Indies Stafaine Taylor occupy top 2 positions.
