“Some In KCA Hold A Grudge Against My Child”- Sanju Samson’s Father Drops Bombshell In VHT Controversy

Sanju Samson‘s father, Samson Vishwanath, has accused individuals in the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) of holding a grudge against his son. The wicket-keeper batter was excluded from the Kerala squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and later overlooked by national selectors for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The KCA cited Samson’s absence from a mandatory three-day training camp in Wayanad as the reason for his non-selection. Samson had reportedly informed the association of his unavailability for the camp but assured them he would be ready for the matches.

KCA President Jayesh George stated that Samson cannot bypass protocols and must participate in training camps like other players. However, Vishwanath alleged that the decision was deliberate, questioning why other players were selected despite missing the camp.

“There are people within KCA who have something against my child. We’ve never spoken out against the association before, but this time, it’s become too much. Sanju isn’t the only one who didn’t attend the camp; yet other players in the same situation were allowed to play,” Samson Vishwanath told Mathrubhumi (via News 18)

“It’s not about Jayesh George (KCA president) or Vinod (KCA secretary); it’s some small people in between who turn everything into poison over trivial matters,” he added

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor recently expressed sympathy for Sanju Samson, blaming KCA members’ egos for hindering his career. With the BCCI making domestic cricket essential for national team selection, the wicket-keeper batter needs KCA’s support more than ever.

“We’re Open to Discussion and Ready to Address Any Mistakes”- Samson Vishwanath

Samson has represented Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Ranji Trophy during the current domestic season, alongside his international duties. He scored 136 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 149.45, helping Kerala finish third in Group E.

“We are sportsmen, not interested in the business of sports. All I want is for my son to be given a fair chance to play. If there’s any mistake, we’re open to discussion and ready to fix it,” he added.
