Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly heaped praise on Ravichandran Ashwin, calling him an “all-time great”. He also termed Ravindra Jadeja as the best all-rounder in world cricket at the moment. Both spinners have been the important pillars of Indian cricket over the last decade.

Ravichandran Ashwin is set to play his 100th Test match for India when they take on England at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. He recently went past the 500-wicket mark in Test cricket and also broke Anil Kumble’s record for most Test wickets at home for India. Ahead of the fifth test, Sourav Ganguly spoke about Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to Revsportz. Jadeja is the number 1 ranked Test all-rounder in the world in the latest ICC rankings.

“All-time great, all-time great off-spinner. 500 wickets is not a matter of joke. Then you have Jadeja, the best all-rounder at the moment. Bat and ball in these conditions,” said Sourav Ganguly.

Kuldeep Yadav has improved immensely: Sourav Ganguly

Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly further expressed that he has seen a massive improvement in Kuldeep Yadav. The spinner has faced a lot of ups and downs in his International career so far. Ganguly added that Kuldeep had come back well, and has made a mark in the series. The 29-year-old showcased his all-round talent in Ranchi, taking 4 wickets in the second innings, and also made valuable contributions with the bat.

“I think Kuldeep has come back immensely. He’s improved immensely. And I think with bowlers like Ashwin and Jadeja, he’s not been underdone by them. He’s made a mark of his in the series and will go on to play for India for a long period,” said Ganguly.

India has sealed the five-match test series against England with a five-wickets win in the fourth test at Ranchi. They have won three matches so far, heading into the final match.
