BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was hospitalised on Monday (Dec 27)  night after testing Covid positive. He was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata after he had a mild fever on December 26 (Sunday) and was tested for the virus soon after.

After a positive report, Ganguly got admitted to the hospital on Monday night. However, there is no cause for alarm, and that his condition is stable. The former India captain was advised to avoid home isolation possibly because of some pre-existing health conditions.

Meanwhile, Ganguly’s wife Dona gave an update on his health condition after the initial treatment. As per a report in TOI, all his health parameters are doing fine as well.

His Health Parameters Are Fine Right Now: Dona On Sourav Ganguly

“He is fine and all his health parameters are fine right now. He has no other complications. Sourav had a mild fever and sore throat from Sunday. He was immediately isolated and the test was done,” said his wife Dona Ganguly.

“Snehasish-da (his brother) had Covid last year. My parents, my mother-in-law also had Covid. Several of our house helps had also tested positive at different times. It is not as if Covid erupted suddenly in the family. Moment Dada had just a hint of fever, he was immediately isolated. Maybe that is why Sana and I tested negative,” she added.

Ganguly was attended by Saptarshi Basu at Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital. He also said that there is nothing to worry about ‘Dada’s health at the moment.

“Dada had no fever on Tuesday morning. He is under antibody cocktail therapy,”. Thus, it is only a matter of time until the Bengal tiger is once again, fit and fine” said Saptarhshi.

Ganguly was hospitalised earlier this year as well with complaints of chest discomfort. He was initially admitted to Woodlands Hospital for what was described as a heart attack by doctors. He underwent angioplasty at the time and was believed to have recovered.
