On August 7, Kerala High Court passed an order urging BCCI to lift the lifetime ban, which stands firm on their zero tolerance policy on corruption and spot-fixing.

Instead, BCCI has decided to make an appeal against the decision to the division bench of Kerala High Court.

However, the governing board in a report said, “The decision of the sessions court to acquit the petitioner from the criminal charges has no impact whatsoever on the decision of the internal disciplinary committee of the BCCI to ban the petitioner from playing cricket tournaments organized by the BCCI and/or its affiliates.”
