S Sreesanth Picked In Kerala’s Squad For Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

S Sreesanth will return to competitive cricket in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The veteran fast bowler has been named in Kerala’s 20 man squad for the domestic T20 tournament. Sreesanth has completed his seven-year ban period and is set to represent Kerala in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The 37-year-old was presented with a new cap by the KCA secretary Sreejith V Nair when the Kerala squad was announced at a camp at SD College Ground in Alappuzha. In the last few months, Sreesanth has been working extremely hard on his fitness and is aiming to make match-winning contributions in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The fast bowler has never been short on confidence and that is why he still dreams to represent India in future. After getting picked in the Kerala squad, Sreesanth acknowledged his family and well-wishers who supported him during difficult times.

“Words cannot express my feeling. I am really grateful to the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) for giving me this opportunity. I want to thank my family and each and everyone who has supported me and kept believing in me. I have enjoyed working with the team in the last few days. I hope to learn new things about the game I hold close to my heart in the days ahead”, Sreesanth said.

Meanwhile, apart from Sreesanth, the side of Kerala consists of several big names. Sanju Samson has been selected as the captain for the tournament whereas outstation players Robin Uthappa and Jalaj Saxena are continuing with Kerala for this season too. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will begin from January 10 with Kerala playing their first match on 11th against Puducherry.
