Sri Lanka have announced their squad for the 5 match ODI series against Australia. The ODI series is going to start from 14th June and will end on 24th June. First 2 ODIs would be played in Pallekele and last 3 ODIs would be played in Colombo. It would be an interesting series between both the teams.
Sri Lanka has announced a 21-man squad for ODI series against Australia. Dasun Shanaka would lead the Sri Lankan team. Wanindu Hasaranga is making his comeback in the ODI team after missing the previous ODI series against Zimbabwe due to a hamstring injury.
Maheesh Theekshana would pair with Hasaranga in spin department. Sri Lanka also has Ramesh Mendis and Praveen Jayawickrama as good back-up options. Sri Lankan pitches are usually helpful for spinners. It would be interesting to see if Sri Lanka goes with 3 main spinners in playing XI or not.
Pathum Nissanka and Danushka Gunathilaka are expected to be the opening partners in this ODI series. Niroshan Dickwella has also been selected. Dusmantha Chameera, Nuwan Thushara would be the frontline pacers for Sri Lankan team in the ODI series. Chamika Karunaratne would play role of finisher.
Bhanuka Rajapaksha makes his comeback in ODI team
Bhanuka Rajapaksha has also been selected in ODI squad. He missed previous series due to fitness issues. Charith Assalanka, Dhananjay De Silva, Kusal Mendis and Dinesh Chandimal are some other quality options in the middle order. Avishka Fernando is a surprising exclusion from the squad.
