The Indian side will have a three-week break before they tour to the USA and Caribbean islands for an all-format tour. This tour also marks the beginning of test championship for the Indian side, who are currently ranked number 1.
The tour commences with T20I’s at Florida, where a couple of games were played in the previous tours as well. But there are certain reports regarding the team composition for the upcoming series.
It is now understood that Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are set to be rested for the limited over Internationals. A few weeks ago, reports already emerged regarding their exclusion as they were having a hectic schedule across all formats of the game. They will now be a part of only the two-match test series as it plays a vital role in the championship race.
However, there are reports that there isn’t any clarity on the inclusion of MS Dhoni for the limited-overs leg. This has led to a lot of confusion among a lot of Indian fans regarding his future.
It is clear that Dhoni will not be a part of another World Cup, but he hasn’t provided any news on his retirement / neither intimated the same to the BCCI. More players such as Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar are also expected to be rested for the series and the BCCI is in the idea of sending a young and dynamic team.
The squad is expected to be out on July 17 when the selectors meet. The series begins on August 3rd with the first T20I at Lauderhill, Florida.
