Chennai Super Kings Head Coach Stephen Fleming has delivered an update regarding Dwayne Bravo’s injury. Yesterday during the match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals we witnessed the Delhi Capitals avenge over the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the ultimate final over.

In the final over, Delhi Capitals required 18 runs to win off the last 6 deliveries as Shikhar Dhawan and Axar Patel were at the crease to face the final over. That is when we saw MS Dhoni made a surprising decision to hand over the ball to Ravindra Jadeja instead of Dwayne Bravo.

This decision shocked many as we weren’t able to make out why would Dhoni hand over the ball to a left-arm spinner when two left-handed batsmen were at the crease.

The gamble didn’t pay off as Axar Patel smacked Ravindra Jadeja for three sixes to seal the deal at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. At the post-match presentation, Dhoni revealed that Dwayne Bravo sustained an injury which is why he was off the field and subsequently couldn’t turn up to bowl the final over.

Stephen Fleming Delivers Update on Dwayne Bravo’s Injury

Stephen Fleming has now given an update regarding Dwayne Bravo’s injury, he says that the injury of Dwayne Bravo is quite a serious one which held him back from taking the field. According to Fleming, Dwayne Bravo has sustained an injury to his right groin which will keep him out of action for a minimum of 2 weeks.

“He (Bravo) seems to have a right groin injury, obviously it was serious enough to keep him from coming back to the field, he is just really disappointed that he was not able to bowl the final over, that’s pretty much for what he is in the team for,” Stephen Fleming said.

“He would have to be reassessed going forward, at this stage, you would imagine that it would take few days or a couple of weeks,” he added.
