Legendary fast bowler Stuart Broad has been closely following the fourth Test match between India and England. The former right-arm pacer has been active on social media, sharing his insights and opinions on the game and the teams involved. During the match, India’s top and middle-order batsmen struggled against the England spinners, with only Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel showing resilience.
Broad on X posted: “With the experience & world class talent of Kohli missing, would there have been temptation to bring back Pujara into this India batting line up? Or is his international career over? Feels like he could have brought some consistency and an anchor.”

Shoaib Bashir claimed four wickets, while Tom Hartley took two. Broad questioned whether Cheteshwar Pujara, a sidelined Test batsman, has reached the end of his international career. He suggested that India could have benefited from Pujara’s experience and stability in the absence of Virat Kohli, who is taking a break from cricket to spend time with his family following the birth of his son on February 15.
In terms of the match itself, England’s spinners, Bashir and Hartley, dominated proceedings on the second day of the fourth Test. However, India fought back partially with Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring 73 runs and an unbroken 42-run partnership between Dhruv Jurel (30) and Kuldeep Yadav (17).
At the close of play on the second day, India reached 219 for 7 in 73 overs, with Jurel and Kuldeep holding fort at the crease and facing England’s bowling attack patiently. Earlier in the day, England was bowled out for 353 runs, with Joe Root remaining unbeaten on 122 runs.
Despite England’s lead of 134 runs, India showed resilience, especially towards the end of the day’s play, with the partnership between Jurel and Kuldeep providing hope for a competitive response in the remainder of the Test match.
