Indian batsman Subramanian Badrinath has announced his retirement from all forms of the game today. Badrinath was well known for his stability in the middle order with Chennai Super Kings in the initial editions of Indian Premier League.
A day after his 38th birthday, the Tamil Nadu batsman Subramaniam Badrinath has taken this call on the career. It is to be noted that he was assigned the role of a mentor in the recently concluded TNPL. In a media interview, Subramaniam Badrinath stated this decision as a “tough” one and thanked his fellow mates for being a part of the beautiful journey.
Subramaniam Badrinath played his part as a solid batsman across domestic formats. He represented Tamil Nadu, Vidarbha and Hyderabad in Ranji trophy. Badrinath experience really added a lot to the squad in the last few years.
Badrinath made a good use of the opportunities that earned him the name “domestic specialist”. Badrinath crossed the 10K run mark in a first-class career last year, thus becoming one among the few reaching this feat.
Just announced my retirement from all forms of cricket, Even though I have not been playing much over the last 2 years, it has been One of the harder things I have done in my life … decided to pen it down yesterday.. on my 38th birthday .

Badrinath represented India in 10 games across all three formats. He also represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL other than his home team. In 95 matches he scored over 1441 runs in 95 games.
Badrinath was widely praised for his calm and composed attitude in the middle. In his only T20I game against Windies back in 2011, he also bagged the Man of the match award.
I want to thank @TNCACricket @BCCI all the players, support staff, who I have shared the dressing room with over the years, family and friends who have been with me through highs and lows over the years with out whom this wouldn’t have been possible. 🙏🏻.

However, his presence wasn”t really sensed by the selectors as the Indian middle order was jam-packed with a plethora of talents in the past decade. Nonetheless, Subramaniam Badrinath will ever remain as one of the most “defensive” batsman in his domestic times.
