India and England are facing each other in the fifth test match at Edgbaston. England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and elected to field first. Ravindra Jadeja played a brilliant knock of 104 runs in 194 balls in the ongoing test. This is the first overseas Test century in the career of Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja smashed 13 fours in his composed innings. When Ravindra Jadeja came to bat , the Indian team was struggling at 98 for 5 with the top order back in the pavilion. He formed a 222 run partnership with Rishabh Pant for the 6th wicket. It helped the Indian team to recover from the collapse and take them to a dominating position.
Earlier during the partnership with Rishabh Pant, Jadeja too played his shots and scored a lot of boundaries. However after the dismissal of Pant, Jadeja played safely with Tailenders with a lot of maturity. In the 79th over of the game, Jadeja smashed two back to back boundaries against Mathhew Potts to reach his Century.
Several cricket fans and experts praised Jadeja for his outstanding century. Jadeja has been in brilliant batting form since the start of 2018. He averages almost 50 in the last 4 years with the bat which also includes a century against Sri Lanka this year. Here are some of top twitter reactions:
Hundred for Ravindra Jadeja, came when India was 98 for 5, made a terrific partnership along with Pant and played outstanding knock in the series decider. One of the greatest all-rounders ever in Test cricket. pic.twitter.com/PWpzPtwbnc

And the sword is out, Rajput boy Jadeja proving why he is one of the best all rounders India ever had in limited overs and test cricket. Go champ go! #EngvsInd pic.twitter.com/Y6JqRBTZlg

Before this match, only two Indian batters (Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar) had scored a Test hundred in Edgbaston.
Now only in 1 innings, two more have joined the list; Rishabh Pant and now Ravindra Jadeja. #ENGvIND

Averaging 38 with the bat and 24 with the ball in Test cricket after 60 test matches, arguably one of the greatest spin bowling all-rounder to have played the game, Ravindra Jadeja. An outstanding 100 this.

At this point (Jadeja 92*), no Indian batter has a better batting average than Ravindra Jadeja in Tests outside home in the last five years.
Phenomenal when you think he also averages in the 20s with the ball and bats at No.7. Deserves more credit.#ENGvIND

How badly did we miss Jadeja's batting in SA. Another important knock coming in at a difficult time. He has been doing this time and again, both home and away since Oval 2018. The talks over his place in Indian Test XI are silly regardless of where India play.

Stuart Broad concedes 35 runs in a single over against Jasprit Bumrah
After being invited to bat first , India didn’t get a good start. Shubman Gill was dismissed on a score of 17 runs and Cheteshwar Pujara on a score of 13 runs by James Anderson. Hanuma Vihari could manage to score only 20 runs. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli was dismissed cheaply on a score of 11 runs.
Pant and Jadeja scored brilliant centuries to take India to a dominating position. Both of them played a counter attacking knock. Later captain Jasprit Bumrah played an aggressive knock of 31 runs in 16 balls. He hit Stuart Broad for 4,4Wd,6Nb,4,4,4,6,1 in a single over which gained a lot of limelight.
