Batting great Sachin Tendulkar has lauded Team India’s bowling attack after they scripted an emphatic victory on South African soil. The visitors thumped the Proteas by 113 runs on the back of some superlative efforts from the bowlers, who picked up the remaining six wickets within the first two sessions of day 5 to clinch the victory.

Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers in the entire match, returning with eight wickets including a five-wicket haul. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj also made crucial contributions while Ravichandran Ashwin picked up the last two wickets in the second innings to hand India a significant win.

Following the victory, Sachin Tendulkar was in awe of the bowling attack and showered high praise. Taking to Twitter, he wrote:

“Superb bowling by an attack that can pick 20 wickets in a Test match anywhere in the world. Congratulations to #TeamIndia on a convincing victory!”

“He’s in the best three seamers in the world at the moment” – Virat Kohli on Shami

India captain Virat Kohli showered rich praise on the Bengal pacer, who has played a significant role in India’s dominance in the red-ball format of the game.

Calling Mohammed Shami one of the best three pacers at present, Kohli said:

“Absolutely world class talent (Shami). For me he’s in the best three seamers in the world at the moment. His strong wrist, his seam position and his ability to hit a length consistently.”

With 1-0 up in the three-match series, India play South Africa in the second Test starting January 3 (Monday) at Johannesburg.
