A few weeks back Chennai Super Kings suffered a major blow when their star player Suresh Raina pulled out of IPL 2020. Soon after the news broke out, there was a lot of speculations and social media was on fire. Several reports suggested that Raina was not happy with the facilities at Abu Dhabi during his quarantine.
Following that CSK owner, N. Srinivasan himself had to come up front and clarify the rumours regarding the rift between the CSK franchise and Suresh Raina. Eventually, after few days upon reaching India, Raina himself cleared the air and asserted that the actual reason for his withdrawal from IPL this year were indeed family reasons.
The veteran CSK batsman took to Twitter and spoke about the heinous crime meted out to his family when he was in UAE. The incident took place in Punjab’s Pathankot district when Raina’s uncle and his entire family was attacked by robbers.
Suresh Raina hints at possible IPL 2020 comeback
Meanwhile, after that, it seemed almost certain that Raina will completely miss the entire IPL 2020. However, in the last few days, Raina has again shared videos and posts of himself returning to training.
This might a possible hint of him again preparing for the upcoming season in UAE and he might again join his beloved CSK franchise. Here are the photos and videos of Raina that he posted on his official Instagram account in the past few days.
The 13th edition of the cash league is all set to commence from September 19 in the UAE in a bio-secure bubble. All franchises have already commenced their outdoor training and are gearing up for the much anticipated season.
Moreover, there’s no official confirmation about Raina again joining the Chennai Super Kings, but the signs now surely look positive. If Raina again decides to be part of IPL 2020, he will again have to undergo a compulsory 66 day quarantine period before he again resumes training with his squad.
Further CSK will clash against defending champs Mumbai Indians in the opening clash of IPL 2020 at Abu Dhabi. Raina is the leading run-scorer for CSK and also has the overall second-most runs in IPL history.
