India winning the 2011 World Cup at the Wankhade Stadium is perhaps one of the greatest days in the history of Indian Cricket. Everyone remembers the six of captain MS Dhoni that sealed the victory for India. Suresh Raina played an integral role in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the World Cup. The left-handed batsman revealed the name of that one player because of whom India lifted the World Cup after 28 long years.
The Indian team wanted to win the World Cup for the Little Master Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin who had already been a part of 5 World Cups was playing in his last. In a recent interview to Khaleej Times, Suresh Raina said that the calmness of Sachin Tendulkar was the reason behind India lifting the World Cup.

“With Sachin, it’s all about his calmness. It was because of Sachin we won the World Cup. He was the one that made everyone in the team believe that we can do it, he was like the second coach of our side,” Raina said.
Sachin Tendulkar led the way for India in that edition of the World Cup with the bat. The maestro ended the World Cup as the second-highest run-scorer. He scored 482 runs in the nine matches that India played in the tournament at an average of 53.55 and at a strike rate of 91.98 that included 2 centuries.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina who replaced Yusuf Pathan in the quarterfinals also played some crucial knocks in the middle order. The southpaw struck a crucial 34 from 28 balls against Australia to take India home. Then again in the semifinal against Pakistan at Mohali, he made 36* and took India to a respectable total of 260.
