Suryakumar Yadav has achieved a remarkable feat, becoming the second-fastest Indian to score 2,500 T20I runs in just 71 innings. He reached this milestone during the third T20I against Bangladesh on Saturday, October 12, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Batting at No. 3, the 34-year-old made 75 runs off 35 balls, including eight fours and five sixes, marking his 21st fifty. This performance brought his T20I run total to 2,500, placing him second on the all-time list for this achievement.
He is surpassed only by former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who reached the same total in 68 innings during a match against the West Indies in December 2019 in Hyderabad. Before this match, the Mumbai cricketer had participated in 73 games, amassing 2,469 runs at an average of 41.84, including 20 fifties and four centuries.

In the third T20I against Bangladesh, Team India won the toss and chose to bat. The hosts faced early difficulties, losing Abhishek Sharma for just four runs. Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson took charge of the game with an electrifying display.
The duo set the record for the fourth-highest partnership for the second wicket in T20I history, amassing 173 runs off just 69 balls.
Sanju reached his century in a remarkable 40 balls, making him the second-fastest in India’s T20I history, trailing only former captain Rohit Sharma, who did it in 35 balls. He ended the innings with 111 runs off 47 balls, hitting 11 fours and eight sixes, while Suryakumar contributed 75 runs off 35 balls.
Near the end of the innings, Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag teamed up to add 70 runs off 26 balls for the fourth wicket. Pandya scored 47 runs from 18 balls, hitting four fours and four sixes, while Parag contributed 34 runs off 13 balls.
The Men in Blue concluded their innings at 297/6, marking the second-highest total in T20I history.
