Suryakumar Yadav Injures His Hand In A Buchi Babu Tournament Match Before The Duleep Trophy

Suryakumar Yadav of India’s cricket team had a bad return to the first-class game as he did not bat in the second innings against TNCA XI because of hand injury. This injury was sustained by the 33 years old during Mumbai’s first match of Buchi Babu tournament.

On Day 3, Mumbai’s TNCA XI batting line up had already suffered serious lead from which they needed to recover with Pradosh Ranjan Paul batting on the fourth day when Musheer Khan bowled a leg stump ball that got into Suryakumar’s territory at leg slip position.

In a bid attempt to grasp the ball that was coming towards him on his left-hand side, he ended up getting hit on some part of his hand instead. He fell down immediately as he was inconsolably pained and got treated by the physio team who rushed onto ground.

In the end, the player left the field after getting some treatment and he did not bat again as Mumbai lost the second innings for only 223 runs which meant that they lost by a whopping margin of 286 runs. The scoreboard had ‘absent hurt’ mentioned against Suryakumar Yadav’s name at the end of the match.

In the first innings, it was a quick 30 runs from him after all when Mumbai were bundled for a miserable 156 in reply to TNCA XI’s 379. So far, there has been no update on the intensity of Suryakumar’s injury by either MCA or BCCI.
