Mumbai Indians’ batter Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on his left forearm and has been ruled out from the IPL 2022 season. He has been advised to rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team.

Incidentally, the 31-year-old cricketer missed MI’s initial two matches as he was recovering from another hand injury. However, Suryakumar Yadav sustained another injury during the team’s fixture against Gujarat Titans on 6th May 2022.

“Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left forearm and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised to rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team,” the franchise said in a statement.

Suryakumar Yadav played eight matches this season for the Mumbai Indians scoring 303 runs at an average of 43.29, including three half-centuries. He is also the second-highest run-getter for the franchise.

Mumbai Indians had an awful start to their IPL 2022 campaign after suffering eight consecutive losses in the opening eight matches. They have, however, won two on the bounce but have been eliminated from the race to the playoffs.
