The IPL 2021 auction is just around the corner and all domestic player tried impressing the franchises in SMAT 2021. In the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020/21 the best domestic talent of India produced some amazing performances.

1.Vishnu Solanki 

The batsman from Baroda was highly successful in SMAT 2021. Solanki played an integral role in taking his team to the final of the tournament. He ended the competition as the fifth-highest run-scorer with 267 runs in 8 matches at an average 53.40 and strike-rate 128.36. 

Solanki showed that he is a big match player when he made a match-winning contribution of 71 runs in 46 balls and took his side to the semis of SMAT. Teams such as CSK and RCB can bid for Solanki in the IPL auction as he will add solidity and firepower in their batting line-up.

2. Jalaj Saxena 

The seasoned Jalaj Saxena has always been consistent in domestic cricket in his long career. In the recently concluded SMAT, he showed his class once again and snaffled 10 wickets in the tournament at an average of 11.90, bowling strike-rate of 11.4 and an economy of just 6.26. 

Teams such as Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab and even RCB look the main contenders to venture for Saxena in the IPL auction. These teams lack a trusted off-spinner in their side and Jalaj Saxena can certainly be a game-changing addition in their squad. 

3. Lukman Meriwala

The left-arm fast bowler from Baroda troubled some of the most notable Indian batsmen in SMAT 2021. The talented Lukman Meriwala was on target whenever he was introduced in the bowling attack. He was the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 15 wickets in 8 matches including a 5 wicket haul. 

Now in the upcoming IPL auction Meriwala will certainly be targeted by several franchises. Teams such as KXIP, RR and KKR are expected to bid a high amount for the fast bowler in the IPL auction. 

2. Kedar Devdhar  

Another player the teams will be keeping an eye on in the IPL auction is Kedar Devdhar. He was a key part of the Baroda side who reached the finals of the competitive tournament. The opening batsman scored 349 runs in 8 games at an average 69.80 and strike-rate 113.68. The next step for Devdhav will be the IPL where he will again looking to replicate his consistent form. 

The captain of Baroda made the headlines when he smashed 64 runs off 49 balls in the semi-final against Punjab. He will certainly be in the plans of teams such as RR and CSK in the IPL auction who are desperately looking to make their batting stronger ahead of the next season.

Last but certainly not the least is the destructive Mohammed Azharuddeen who smashed a 37 ball century in the SMAT 2021 against Mumbai. He played a knock for the ages and hammered 137 not out off 54 balls with the help of 9 fours and 11 sixes. 

Azharuddeen is an ideal T20 batsman can tee off from ball one even against quality bowlers in the IPL. In the upcoming auction franchises such as CSK, SRH and KKR are expected to go after him and offer a huge amount in the much anticipated IPL auction.
