Ahead of the qualifying round of T20 World Cup 2021, Sri Lanka have unveiled their new jersey for the mega event. The jersey has an abstract pattern and incorporates typical Sri Lankan jersey colours of blue and yellow, with elements of orange, indigo, and black, sprinkled on top.
On Monday, Srilankan journalist Azzam Ameen, shared a photo on his Twitter profile, in which former captain Dinesh Chandimal can be seen sporting the new jersey.

Sri Lanka will begin their campaign against Namibia on Oct 18 in Abu Dhabi. Thereafter, they will play Ireland and Netherlands. Sri Lanka are currently ranked no.10 in the Men’s T20I Team Rankings and hence have failed to qualify directly for the main tournament. The island nation needs to finish at the top two positions in their group to qualify for the final round of the T20 World Cup 2021.

10th October was the cut-off date for the different teams to announce their final squads for the tournament. Sri Lanka have made four changes in their previously announced squad. Lahiru Kumara, Pathum Nissanka, Akila Dananjaya and Binura Fernando have been added into the main squad.Lahiru Madushanka, Nuwan Pradeep, Praveen Jayawickrama and Kamindu Mendis have made way for them.
The side will be led by Dasun Shanaka while Dhananjaya de Silva will take care of the vice-captaincy duties. The team has a good mix of experience and youth. Kusal Perera, who is returning from a hamstring injury, will be key to Sri Lanka’s success as a batting unit. All-rounder, Wanindu Hasaranga who had a great series against India, will also like to continue his form in the World cup.
