Yuzvendra Chahal, a leg-spinner, has made a mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL), showcasing his skills for the Rajasthan Royals. Despite bowling in tough situations during the death overs, he has managed to take 13 wickets in nine IPL games, boasting an economy rate of 9.00.

Notably, he is the only spinner in the top 10 wicket-takers list this season. His IPL journey since 2013 has been impressive, amassing 200 wickets in 154 games, making him a standout bowler.

In the last five seasons, his performances have been consistently remarkable, culminating in winning the Purple Cap in 2022 as the highest wicket-taker. However, despite his IPL success, Chahal has yet to secure a spot in India’s T20 World Cup matches. In previous editions, other spinners like Rahul Chahar, R Ashwin, and Axar Patel were preferred over him. This has led to speculation about his role in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Especially considering his absence from recent T20I squads and the selectors’ inclination towards other spin options like Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel. Chahal’s potential inclusion could be a strategic move by captain Rohit Sharma, especially given India’s underwhelming performances in the last two T20 World Cups.

With the majority of the current squad having been part of the previous editions, there is a pressing need for fresh strategies and impactful players.

Chahal’s Potential Impact: ‘Kul-Cha’ Partnership Revival and Bowling Mastery

Chahal’s selection could also revive the famed ‘Kul-Cha’ pairing, known for their wicket-taking abilities, albeit at the expense of batting depth. Chahal’s success in the IPL can be attributed to his mastery of various deliveries, making it challenging for batsmen to predict his next move.

His ability to perform under pressure adds value to his candidacy for the T20 World Cup squad. However, concerns remain about his limitations as a batter, which might influence the team management’s decision.

The Indian Cricket Team announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in the West Indies and United States of America starting from 2nd June onwards. Shivam Dube has been selected in the squad after some superb performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League for Chennai Super Kings.

Dube played a key role for CSK during the 2023 edition of IPL helping CSK to win their fifth IPL title. He was signed by the franchise for Rs 4 Crore during the last edition. During the 2023 edition of IPL, Dube hit 35 sixes with a strike rate of 176.47 against spin.

He featured in the playing XI during the series against Afghanistan at home this year. Dube looked impressive with shots putting enough pressure on the spinners with massive hits.

“When I came for the Afghanistan series, Rohit bhai told me ‘bowling bhi daalega, batting bhi milega tere ko (You’ll bowl and get to bat as well). You just have to show what you are capable of,” Dube said in a chat with bcci.tv.

“So that is what I was focusing on, because if the captain tells you that they want to see you perform, it motivates you. When I was playing, all I was thinking about was how I could perform better and help my team.”

“Mentally, I prepared myself to know what my approach should be if a bowler bowls a particular ball. It took some time, but I’m set now. I watch the ball well, and as it hits the bat, I get the feeling that it’ll go for six and go long. Special thanks to CSK. They brought me up and it has worked for me.”

Shivam Dube’s performance in IPL 2024

Shivam Dube looked impressive in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 for CSK. He has played so far 9 matches with 350 runs including 3 half-centuries with the best score of 66 not out against Mumbai Indians at a strike rate of 172.41.

With Hardik Pandya in the squad for the T20 World Cup, it could become tough for India to fit him during the mega event.

The T20 World Cup is coming up soon, and the Indian team has some tough decisions to make. They need to pick players based on their performances, especially those who shine in the IPL. Dinesh Karthik, a seasoned player, has been outstanding in the IPL, scoring a lot of runs at a very high speed for RCB. People are now debating whether Karthik should be included in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.

He hasn’t played for India since 2022, when he didn’t make much of an impact despite being selected based on his IPL performance. With Rishabh Pant as the main wicketkeeper-batter, the selectors are looking for a backup. Some think KL Rahul or Sanju Samson might be better choices than Karthik. However, Yuvraj Singh, a former Indian cricketer, believes there’s no harm in picking Karthik.

He suggests that if Karthik gets selected, he should also get a chance to play in the matches, not just sit on the bench.

“DK (Karthik) has been batting well, but the thing with DK is the last time (2022) they picked him and the T20 WC was on he didn’t get to play,” Yuvraj said as quoted by ICC. “If DK is not in your XI I don’t think there is any point in picking him. There is Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and both guys are in great form and obviously they are younger.”

He continued, “I would like to see DK in the mix, but if he is not going to play then you would rather have someone who is younger and can make the difference.” Previously, Dinesh Karthik expressed his readiness to participate in the T20 World Cup, affirming his full preparedness for the prestigious tournament.

Nevertheless, he emphasized his willingness to abide by the choices made by captain Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid, and Ajit Agarkar.

“At this stage of my life, it would be the greatest feeling for me to represent India. I’m very, very keen to do so. There’s nothing bigger in my life other than representing India in this T20 World Cup,” Karthik, who also does commentary at present, said.

Trent Boult, who’s now playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024, is getting ready for a busy cricket season. He’ll be playing in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and Major League Cricket later this year. Boult used to play for New Zealand but now he’s freelancing, which means he’s not tied to any team. He’s happy about this because it means he can spend more time with his family while still playing cricket.

Boult has been doing okay in the IPL this season. He’s taken seven wickets in seven matches, which has helped Rajasthan Royals get to the top of the points table with 12 points. Boult likes the new rule in cricket that allows bowlers to bowl two bouncers in an over. He thinks it’s a good idea because cricket grounds are smaller now, and the pitches are flatter. This means the ball doesn’t move around as much as it used to.

Trent Boult Praises Two-Bouncer Rule for Adding Unpredictability, Highlights Impact Player Rule’s Influence on IPL Scoring

So, having the option to bowl two bouncers makes it harder for batsmen to predict what the bowler will do. Boult said, “Two bounces in an over is a good initiative… it just gives the bowlers another card up their sleeve to try to be that little bit more unpredictable.”

He also thinks the Impact Player rule, which lets teams have strong batters even down to number 10, has made a big difference in the IPL. Teams are scoring more runs, and there have been some really high scores, like over 250 runs.

Boult said, “I think it has made a huge difference… the boundary counts are higher than they have ever been.”

However, Boult thinks the new rule has changed the game a lot because teams can now pick their players differently. Before, teams had to stick to certain patterns, but now they can mix things up more. Rajasthan Royals, who are currently leading the table, are getting ready to play against Mumbai Indians in their next match at their home ground in Jaipur on 22nd April.

Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley refuted claims that BCCI, England, and his organization ignored a draft by the International Cricket Council (ICC) aimed at preserving Test cricket. Dismissing reports, Hockley stated, “Categorically, I think there was some misreporting around that.” He emphasized ongoing discussions on optimizing the cricket calendar for global growth.

The proposed changes include additional T20 league windows, adjustments to the World Test Championship points system, 40-over ODIs, concerns about T20Is, and pooling broadcast rights revenue for bilateral series. Hockley clarified, “We’re very much involved with that piece of work,” highlighting Australia’s commitment to supporting ICC initiatives for all cricket formats.

Denying indifference to Test cricket, Hockley revealed discussions with Martin Snedden during the New Zealand-Australia Test, expressing Australia’s dedication to enhancing all three formats. He emphasized Cricket Australia’s influential role in ICC strategy, citing contributions to developments like the World Test Championship.

Highlighting global cricket growth, Hockley mentioned the U.S. embracing the sport and co-hosting the with the West Indies. He endorsed a format strategy where all formats contribute to cricket’s success, aligning with Snedden’s efforts to foster collaboration among members.
Acknowledging Australia’s respect for the World Test Championship, Hockley emphasized its significance to men’s Test cricket.

He stressed ensuring economic viability for countries and configuring the calendar for all three formats. Hockley concluded, “It’s really working together to make sure that we continue to take it forward.” In essence, Hockley countered reports, emphasizing collaborative efforts to enhance global cricket while maintaining Australia’s commitment to preserving and promoting Test cricket.

Before the start of the Super 12 round, former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar picked his four semi-finalists for the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar expressed that he would love to see the Indian team lift the T20 World Cup this year. India hasn’t won the trophy since their inaugural season championship win in 2007. However, Sachin Tendulkar also stated the top competitors for India. He picked Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand as the semi-finalists along with India.

“I would obviously want India to be the champions but my top four would be India, Pakistan, Australia, and England. New Zealand is the dark horse as is South Africa… These are the conditions South Africans get to encounter at home in September-October. They are used to such conditions,” Tendulkar told The Telegraph.

The Super 12 stage of T20 World Cup kicks off on October 22

The Super 12 round of the 2022 T20 World Cup will begin on Saturday, October 22 with Australia taking on New Zealand in Sydney. Both the teams are in Group 1, along with England, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and one more team from the Qualifiers.

Meanwhile, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and one more team from the Qualifiers will form Group B. Sri Lanka and the Netherlands due to points table margin have already qualified for the Super 12 stage of the tournament from the qualifiers.

The top two teams from each group in the Super 12 stage will reach the semi-finals, which will take place on November 9 in Sydney and on November 10 in Adelaide. The final will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, November 13.

T20 World Cup 2022 is going to be played in the months of October and November this year. It’s going to be an exciting event. The last year’s T20 World Cup which was played in UAE was won by Australia. This year’s marquee event will be hosted by Australia who are the current champions.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has started its preparation for the T20 World Cup in Australia. They have started posting several videos for promotion of the T20 World Cup. These promotions include various cricket superstars across the globe.

Recently, the T20 World Cup social media handle posted a promotion video of  Rishabh Pant featuring in it. Pant can be seen emerging from the Sydney Harbour in the video. Pant is dressed up in the blue Indian jersey.

The video was captioned, “Welcome to The Big Time, Rishabh Pant.”

Rishabh Pant has become a global superstar at such a young age. He has a good fan following in overseas countries like Australia, and England. Pant will be an exciting player to watch out for in the T20 World Cup. The southpaw plays an aggressive brand of cricket.

“Pant is important part of our plans for T20 WC” – Rahul Dravid backs Rishabh Pant in T20I

Rishabh Pant so far has failed to perform in the International T20I as per the standards he has set in the Indian Premier League. Pant has scored almost 750 runs in his T20I career at an average of 23 and strike rate of 124. Several fans also questioned the place of Rishabh Pant in the Indian T20I team.

However, coach Rahul Dravid backed Rishabh Pant after a poor T20I series against South Africa. Dravid said, “Personally, he would have liked to score a few more runs but it is not concerning him. Certainly, he is a very big part of our plans going ahead in the next few months. I just don’t want to be critical.”

Rohit Sharma-led Team India will begin their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against Pakistan. The arch-rivals will face off on October 23 in front of 100,000 spectators at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Millions of cricket fans across the world will be glued to their televisions one more time for this epic clash.

In the last 14 years, India has dominated Pakistan in T20 World Cups, winning five of the six games played against them. However, the last time these two teams met, Pakistan won by a massive 10-wicket margin.

Here’s a look back at previous T20 World Cup matches between India and Pakistan:

1. 2007- Group Stage

India

This was the first occasion where India and Pakistan were meeting in a T20 match. India batted first and scored 141/9 in 20 overs thanks to Robin Uthappa’s 50 and MS Dhoni’s 33. Pakistan got off to a bad start, losing their first four wickets for just 47 runs. It was Misbah-Ul-Haq’s knock of 53 that brought Pakistan back in the game.

However, he failed to take Pakistan through, and the match ended in a tie necessitating a bowl-out, as per the tournament rules of that time. India comfortably won the tie-breaker 3-0.

2. 2007- Final

T20 World Cup

India reached 157/5 in 20 overs, thanks to Gautam Gambhir’s outstanding innings of 75 runs. Pakistan got off to a terrible start, losing 6 wickets for just 77 runs. Misbah-ul-Haq  kept Pakistan in the game. He took the game till the last over where his side required 13 runs to lift the trophy. Only 1 wicket was left.

When Misbah struck Joginder Sharma for a six off the second ball of that over, it seemed like a cakewalk for Pakistan from there, but he miscued a scoop off the following delivery, handing away an easy catch to Sreesanth who was standing at short fine-leg. India won the final by five runs and became the champions of inaugural edition of T20 World Cup.

3. 2012 – Group Stage

Pakistan India

A flawless bowling display from the Men in Blue helped in restricting Pakistan at 128 runs. None of the Pakistani batters were able to make a big score. Virat Kohli guided India to victory with an unbeaten 78 off only 61 deliveries.

India won by eight wickets with 18 balls remaining. Not many might know that Virat Kohli also bowled three overs and took the wicket of Mohammed Hafeez in this match.

4. 2014 – Group Stage

T20 World Cup

India’s bowlers did a good job of restricting Pakistan to 130/7 in 20 overs. Amit Mishra bowled superbly registering figures of 2 for 22 in his four overs.

Virat Kohli was once again the hero with the bat, scoring unbeaten 36 runs to lead India to victory. Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina also had useful contributions in the Indian innings. With nine balls to spare, India won the game.

5. 2016- Group Stage

India

India needed to beat Pakistan in this game to survive in the tournament, after being defeated by New Zealand in the opening match of Super 10. Due to rain, this game was cut short to 18 overs per side.

Indian bowlers limited Pakistan to a score of only 118/5 at the Eden Gardens. India triumphed by six wickets, thanks to Virat Kohli’s 55 runs off just 37 balls.

6. 2021- Group Stage

rizwan kohli

Pakistan finally ended its terrible losing trend against India in World Cups, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India scored 151 runs in the first innings. After India lost two wickets early on, Virat Kohli once again took responsibility and made an incredible half-century.

Pakistan were in total command during the chase. Both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan went on to score half-centuries, ensuring Pakistan’s first 10-wicket victory in T20 internationals and India’s first such defeat.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday (November 16) announced the host nations for the global white-ball events from 2024-2031. One of the standouts is, Pakistan is all set to host the 2025 Champions trophy.

India will get to host the 2029 Champions Trophy, 2026 T20 World Cup alongside Sri Lanka, and 2031 Cricket World Cup in association with Bangladesh.

“The USA and Namibia will host an ICC World Cup event for the first time. Whilst Australia, Bangladesh, England, Ireland, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe have previously staged major events and will do so again over the next decade,” ICC press release stated.

“The hosts were selected via a competitive bidding process overseen by a Board sub-committee chaired by Martin Snedden along with Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Skerritt. The ICC Board accepted the recommendations of the committee who conducted a thorough review of each bid along with ICC management. A similar process to identify the hosts for ICC Women’s and U19s events for the next cycle will be undertaken early next year,” it added.

USA to stage an ICC event for the first time

17 Members had submitted a total of 28 proposals to stage the eight ICC Men’s white-ball tournaments for the coming years till 2031.

ICC Chair Greg Barclay said:

“We are delighted to have concluded this competitive bidding process for the first time for ICC events. To have 14 Members hosting 8 events is a reflection of the truly global nature of our sport and I’d like to thank every Member that submitted a bid and offer our congratulations to the successful bidders.

He further added:

“It is fantastic to be returning to so many previous hosts, but what is really exciting about this process is the countries who will stage ICC events for the first time including the USA which is a strategic growth market for us. This gives us the opportunity to deepen our connection with fans in traditional cricket nations and also reach new fans around the world.”

Martin Snedden, Chair of the ICC Hosting Sub-Committee added:

“We received a range of excellent bids to host the ICC Men’s events in the next cycle. We were committed to ensuring a broad spread of hosts to align with the ICC strategic objective of global growth and have ended up with 14 countries who will support that long term aim.”

As per latest reports in Cricbuzz, BCCI (Board of Control For Cricket In India) is likely to host the 2023 cricket World Cup. The same was decided in an ICC meeting in Dubai as they sat to decide on the next World Cup cycle. The body also decided on giving USA one of the upcoming ICC events in the future.

The USA and Cricket West Indies will jointly host the T20 World Cup in 2024 which will be 20-team and a 55 match event. The BCCI is likely to host the 2023 50-Over World Cup and one more ICC event if not two more.

During these meetings, the ICC may finally decide on the hosts of next cycle, a decision which is thought to be behind schedule given the fact that the ICC wants to go to the market with its media rights package in December.

Apart from India, West Indies and USA, England, New Zealand and Australia might also get hosting rights for ICC events. The 2024 T20 World Cup will be a 20-team event. The number of teams in 2027 and 2031 Cricket World Cups will increase to 14 from 10.

India was scheduled to host the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. However, the BCCI moved the competition to the Middle East because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The last time India hosted an ICC men’s tournament was back in 2016.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli chose not to attend the post-match press conference after India’s 8-wicket defeat against New Zealand on Sunday. Former India captain and batsman Mohammad Azharuddin was not pleased with Kohli’s decision to skip the press conference.

He said that winning and losing is part of the game. but being the captain of the side, it was Virat Kohli’s responsibility to answer the questions of the media. “There is no shame in losing. But you need to come and speak up. That is the right thing to do. People will listen to you and at least get to know the reason behind the loss.”, Azharuddin said.

Virat Kohli should be noted that India’s lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah attended the press conference instead of Virat, after the match.  “There is a difference between Bumrah speaking or a coach/captain speaking. It is important to face the public. You will have to face the nation and come and speak.”, Azharuddin added.

Azharuddin also pointed that if the skipper is absent from the presser, then more unnecessary rumours about the team will circulate in the media. “If you don’t come, what will people think? Needless rumours are going to be spread.”, said Azharuddin on ABP News.

We try to adapt but bubble fatigue and mental fatigue  creeps in- Jasprit Bumrah

Meanwhile, during his press conference, Jasprit Bumrah discussed the Bio-Bubble fatigue that cricketers experience during COVID times. Because there are so many tournaments/series going on, it hasn’t been easy for the players to go from one bubble to another. The IPL 2021 final and India’s first warm-up game for the T20 World Cup 2021 were separated by only three days. Over time, playing on such a tight schedule does take a toll on cricketers’ mental well-being.

“We try to adapt but bubble fatigue and mental fatigue also creeps in. You are doing the same thing again and again. It is the way it is, and you can’t control a lot of things over here,” Bumrah stated.

The Super 12 round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will begin with Australia taking on South Africa in the first Group 1 encounter at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, October 23. The second match of the day will be a replay of the 2016 T20 World Cup final, with England facing West Indies at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The first two matches will feature two captains with the most runs in the tournament since its inception.

Captains over the years have played key roles with the bat in ICC tournaments. Indian skipper Virat Kohli for instance has ended up being the player of the tournament in the 2014 and 2016 editions.

In this article, we take a look at the three captains with the most runs in ICC T20 World Cups.

1) Virat Kohli

Kohli has been India’s batting mainstay since a few years now. He produced his best with the bat in T20 World Cups in the 2014 and 2016 editions. He scored 319 in the 2914 edition and 273 in the 2016 edition.

However, in recent times, Virat Kohli has not been in the best of form with the bat. Kohli’s inability to break free in IPL 2021 though has raised a few concerns about his game.

Overall, in 16 matches, he has clobbered 777 runs at a strike rate of 133.04 with nine fifties and a best of 89 not out. Kohli averages a staggering 86.33 in the T20 World Cup and was named Player of the Series in the last two editions.

2) Aaron Finch

I Don't Think It's Realistic for Me to Play Test Cricket Again: Aaron Finch

The Australian skipper comes into this tournament with unfinished business. The Aussies have been one of the most dominant teams in the past but are yet to win the ICC T20 World Cup title. Bilateral series defeats against Bangladesh and West Indies in the build-up to the World Cup has put all the focus on their upcoming performance.

Finch has a point to prove with the bat as well. In 76 matches, Finch has 2473 runs to his name at an average of 37.46 and an exceptional strike rate of 150.24.

Finch has 216 runs in six games at an average of 36. His best of 71 came against Bangladesh in the 2014 edition.

3) Eoin Morgan

The England skipper is one the best hitters in T20 cricket. However, his recent form is a big cause of concern for the team. He had a forgetful stint with Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL recently.

With the T20 World Cup coming up, he has a chance to regain his lost form. Morgan is England’s leading run-scorer in the T20I format. In 107 games, he has notched up 2360 runs at a strike rate of 138.25 with 14 fifties.

Overall in 23 games, Morgan has 484 runs to his name in the T20 World Cup games. His best of 71 not out came off 36 balls against West Indies in Sri Lanka during the 2012 edition in a losing cause.

Indian cricket team players took up the dalgona candy challenge drawn from Netflix blockbuster ‘Squid Game’ in a promotional video shared by the ICC on their Instagram handle on Wednesday, ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup. The challenge, part of the third episode of the South Korean drama, requires players to carve out shapes drawn in the candies without breaking them. In the show, players who fail to do so within the stipulated time, or break the candy are killed.

The game has gone viral on social media platforms in recent weeks, and the Indian cricket team was not to be left behind.

“India put to the test in nerve-wracking game,” ICC wrote in its Instagram post accompanying the video.

“Indian Cricket Team stars are put to the test with a game made famous by one of the world’s most talked-about shows,” it added.

In the video, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah are seen taking part in the challenge.

Varun, Rahul, Suryakumar and Bumrah fail to make the cut as they end up breaking their candies while trying to carve out the shapes. Rohit and Shami, however, succeed, as they patiently manage to cut out the shapes from the candies with surgical precision.

Virat Kohli was seen rolling his arms in the warm-up game against Australia as India’s hunt for the sixth bowling option continues ahead of the T20 World Cup. The incumbent captain bowled some gentle medium pace to give a sneak peek into the past.

Kohli was introduced into the attack by Rohit Sharma in the seventh over. He bowled some good lines to concede only four runs against the likes of Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell. Virat Kohli came back in the 13th over and gave away eight runs.

He chipped in with two crucial overs and returned with figures of 0/12. Meanwhile, the fans went gaga as soon as Rohit handed the ball over to Virat Kohli. It was a sight to watch for the Virat Kohli fans.

Meanwhile, Australia recovered well from 11/3 to post 152 runs n the board. Glenn Maxwell continued his IPL role and provided an impetus to the innings in the middle overs before Steve Smith and Marcus Stoinis spent some quality time in the middle and added a 76-run stand.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a good outing after being hammered for 54 runs against England alongside Ravichandran Ashwin, who picked up two crucial wickets.

Hardik Pandya still going to take some time – Rohit Sharma

As the speculation continue to rife over Hardik Pandya resuming bowling, Rohit Sharma asserted that he will take some more time to resume bowling. Speaking at the toss, Rohit said:

“Hardik is coming along pretty well but he’s still going to take some time. He hasn’t bowled much. When you play this kind of a tournament, you need to be a 100%. He’s getting there. He’s not started bowling yet but in the next few days he starts bowling and he should be ready when the World Cup starts.”

India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (October 24).

With the IPL 2021 almost coming towards an end, the focus is slowly and steadily shifting towards the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be Virat Kohli’s final one in this format as the captain. Fans would be hoping that the 32-year-old could lift the prestigious trophy which could be India’s first ICC trophy in 8 years. There is already so much excitement around the mega event but there is one marquee clash that everyone is keenly waiting for.

The Men in Blue will open their campaign on October 24 in Dubai and that too, against their fierce rivals Pakistan. The two teams are set to lock horns for the first time since their meeting in the 2019 World Cup in England.

With so much buzz already the mega clash, the broadcasters have now released the latest version of the famous ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad which has become quite a trend ahead of Indo-Pak matches in mega ICC events.

The advertisement was launched on Wednesday and it has taken no time to go viral on social media. The video hilariously depicts an excited Pakistan fan going to buy a television with crackers in his hand. However, his excitement remains quite short-lived as the Indian fan (who is selling TV) gives him 2 TVs in a ‘Buy 1 Break 1 Free Offer’, reflecting on the fact that he will have to break one when India defeats Pakistan on October 24.

India have never lost to Pakistan in T20 World Cup

India’s brilliant head-to-head record against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup has also been talked about in the ad. It has been mentioned that the Men in Blue have won all the 5 meetings between the two sides in the competition. Here is a summary of all the results:

2016 T20 World Cup (Kolkata) – India beat Pakistan by 6 wickets

2014 T20 World Cup (Dhaka) – India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets

2012 T20 World Cup (Colombo) – India beat Pakistan by 8 wickets

2007 T20 World Cup (Johannesburg) – India beat Pakistan by 5 run

2007 T20 World Cup (Durban) – India beat Pakistan by 3-0 in a bowl-out
