Wasim Jaffer and Micheal Vaughan in the last few months have several times taken a comical dig at each other on Twitter. It all began in the Test series between India and England when Vaughan will be trolled by Jaffer every time his predictions went wrong. Once Vaughan also responded and reminded Jaffer about the time he dismissed him during his Test career. The banter between the two former continues as ahead of IPL 2021, Jaffer again hilariously trolled Vaughan with a diverting meme.

Wasim Jaffer Brutally Trolls Micheal Vaughan

Like every IPL season, Vaughan once again picked his favourites on Twitter and asserted that either defending champs Mumbai Indians will win the trophy again or Sunrisers Hyderabad will take the trophy home. After his tweet, several fans on other teams thanked Vaughan for jinxing the two sides as his predictions have hardly been correct in recent times.

“Early #IPL2021 prediction … @mipaltan will win it … if by some bizarre loss of form then @SunRisers will win it … #OnOn #India”, Vaughan tweeted on Thursday.

Meanwhile, as soon as Jaffer saw the tweet he made sure he once again had some fun with former England cricketer. Jaffer who is the batting coach of Punjab Kings posted an entertaining tweet that read ‘Lg Gye’ and indirectly thanked Vaughan for jinxing MI and SRH before the season. Last year Vaughan confidently had predicted that KKR will win the IPL but they failed to qualified even in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad on paper does look like very strong sides but anything can happen in a tournament like IPL where all teams are evenly balanced. Jaffer will be hoping that Punjab Kings stuns everyone and win their maiden IPL title this year and if that comes true he will surely again take a taunt at his ‘good friend’ Vaughan. The action on the field in IPL 2021 begins tomorrow when MI face RCB in the season opener in Chennai.

Micheal Vaughan has yet again made a bold prediction ahead of the T20I series decider between India and England. The T20I series between India and England is currently locked at 2-2 and they are playing the final match at Ahmedabad. Former England skipper Vaughan believes that we could be seeing the two finalists of the T20I world cup playing at Ahmedabad.

Vaughan who is known for making predictions on Twitter reckons India and England will be playing the T20 world cup at the same venue in 8 months time. The ICC T20I world later this year will be held in India and many are touting India and England as favourites to win the trophy. Vaughan is no different as he feels that India and England are by far the most balanced T20I side in the world at present.

Meanwhile, England and India are currently ranked number 1 and 2 respectively in the ICC T20I teams rankings. The current series between the two sides has been fascinating and fitting it is level at 2-2. Talking about the final T20I, England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and chose to field first. England is playing an unchanged side whereas India has made one change and have included T. Natarajan.

The Indian team is off to a flyer courtesy of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma was the dominant partner as he scored a brilliant 64 in mere 34 deliveries. India is 110 for 1 after 10 overs and is now eyeing a mammoth total which will put a huge amount of pressure on England.

Wasim Jaffer and Micheal Vaughan entertained everyone on Twitter during the first T20I between India and England. The two former cricketers went head to head against each other on Twitter and sarcastically took a dig at each other.

It all began when Micheal Vaughan after India’s disappointing batting display posted a rather unusual tweet. The former cricketer on Twitter wrote 5-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians is a better T20 side that the Indian cricket team. There’s no denying that MI is a quality T20 side but their comparison with the Indian team made very little sense.

Wasim Jaffer And Micheal Vaughan Engage In War Of Words

Once Wasim Jaffer saw the tweet he replied to Vaughan in his witty style and it started the war of words between the two former cricketers. Jaffer reminded Vaughan that MI has the luxury of playing with 4 international cricket which India doesn’t in T20Is. This was a very basic yet fitting reply to Vaughan’s tweet who rated Mumbai Indians better than team India.

“Not all teams are lucky enough to play four overseas players Michael”, Jaffer tweeted.

After this Vaughan continued the fun banter and asked Jaffer, “Have you still not recovered from me getting you out at Lords !??”.

Back in 2002 part-time off-spinner, Micheal Vaughan against the play had dismissed a well-set Jaffer who was batting brilliantly on 53. Jaffer again responded to it and took Vaughan’s playful dig sportingly on Twitter.

“That’s just Life’s Amazing Memories Eh, Michael”. Tweeted Jaffer.

Meanwhile, this fun exchange between the two cricketers will continue throughout the T20I series. Coming back to things on the field, it was all England in the first T20I as they humbled India and won the match by 8 wickets. The two sides will lock horns in the second T20I again at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Virat Kohli once again failed with the bat this time in the first T20I against England at Ahmedabad. Before the match, Kohli had hinted that team India will play an aggressive brand of cricket even if they lose early wickets. Kohli was true to his words and tried attempting a big shot when he was batting on 0.

The Indian captain badly mistime a lofted drive and was caught at mid-off for a duck. Once Kohli departed chances of India posting a big total also diminished and they could only make 125 runs which proved to be very little. Kohli’s poor form continues which is now starting to become a big concern considering India will play a lot of big matches later this year.

Virat Kohli needs to be a little selfish when he comes out to bat- Micheal Vaughan

Now former England captain Micheal Vaughan has advised Kohli to be a little selfish when he comes out to bat. Vaughan believes that if India is aiming to win the T20 world cup later this year than they need Kohli batting at his best. He added that Kohli should take his time when he is at the crease as he has the ability to accelerate once he is set.

“For India to get those big scores, be really effective, and go on to win the T20 World Cup, it will serve the team better if Virat is just a little bit selfish.  A little bit more selfish in the first few deliveries give himself ten balls to get in. Even if he leaves out 3-4 balls in that, you know a couple of boundaries, and he will be on his way”, said Vaughan in a chat with Cricbuzz.

Meanwhile, Vaughan also stated that he never gets concerned about Virat Kohli’s batting. The former England captain pointed out that Kohli is just 10-15 balls away from getting his form back but he must be selfish about his batting by taking his time before attempting big strokes.

“I never get concerned with Virat’s batting because he never looks, in terms of movements, that he is out of form. But something will be triggering in that mind that is quite not right at the minute, but he’s only 10-15 balls away from being back to the Virat Kohli we know. He just doesn’t have to take too many risks too soon when he goes out there in the middle”, concluded Vaughan.

Micheal Vaughan wasn’t pleased after Virat Kohli took an indirect dig at former England players who criticised the Ahmedabad pitch. Ahead of the final Test match Kohli slammed the pitch critics and stated that his team are successful as they never crib about the surface but only focus on their strengths as a team.

The third Test match between India and England finished inside two days as Vaughan and other former players heavily analysed the pitch. Amidst all the pitch talk nobody questioned the batting techniques of England players against Indian spinners. Nevertheless, the Indian captain had enough of the unnecessary talk about the pitch and called the conversation about it one-sided.

“The reason for our success is that we have not cribbed about any pitch we have played on and we will continue to play like that. We all need to be honest with ourselves what is the idea behind continuing this narrative and what purpose it serves people who keep continuing the conversation which is one-sided”, Kohli said in the press conference.

Soon after Kohli’s statements Vaughan once again was the first to condemn on social media.

“Pretty sure the Groundsman was sacked after the 1st Test because the pitch was too flat !!!!! Isn’t that cribbing about a pitch ?? #JustAsking?”, Micheal Vaughan tweeted.

Meanwhile, Vaughan and other England players never talk about the pitch when Test matches get over within 3 days in their country. The third Test pitch at Ahmedabad was surely challenging but wasn’t unplayable as Vaughan and others suggested. England piled on the runs in the opening Test when the pitch was flat on the first 3 days.

As soon as the ball started turning from day 1 it completely changed the Test series as India were by far the better side. India is currently leading the series 2-1 and will be keen to win the 4th Test and qualify for the ICC world Test championship final.

Micheal Vaughan believes That ICC will look ‘toothless’ if a powerful cricket country like India is allowed to prepare pitches like the Ahmedabad Test. Vaughan immensely criticised the pitch at Ahmedabad as the match between India and England finished in just 2 days.

The former England cricketer thinks that the pitch didn’t offer a fair contest between bat and ball and it wasn’t up to the standards. Vaughan added that ICC is allowing India to produce pitches of their choice and Test cricket is getting hurt.

The governing body is allowing India to produce whatever they want- Micheal Vaughan

“The longer powerful countries like India are allowed to get away with it the more toothless the ICC will look”, Michael Vaughan wrote in the Daily Telegraph.

“The governing body is allowing India to produce whatever they wish and it is Test cricket that is getting hurt”, he said while expressing his displeasure with the BCCI.

Meanwhile, Vaughan also pointed out that if this continues broadcasters will ask for refunds and then probably the pitches will get better.

“Perhaps it will take broadcasters to ask for refunds for things to change. They accept Test finishing early because the players are not good enough but not when home boards produce such poor pitches”, he added.

“They are left with three blank days but are still having to pay for production. They will not be happy and might think twice about good money for Test rights,” Vaughan said.

Furthermore, Vaughan tagged India’s victory as ‘shallow’ and believes that there was no winner at all considering the awful Test match pitch.

“India won the third Test but it was shallow victory. In fact, there was no winners from that game at all”, Vaughan started his column with these words.

“Yet, India showed their skill. We are not being fair if we do not accept that their skill levels in those conditions are far better than England’s. But the good of the game needs to be looked at and as ex-players it is our duty to call it out”, Vaughan wrote.

Stuart Broad took a playful dig at Micheal Vaughan after he questioned England’s strategy during the first Test against India. The former England captain wanted Joe Root to declare much earlier in the third session. However, England kept on batting when the lead was over 350 runs which bamboozled several former cricketers.

Shane Warne on Twitter also believed that Joe Root should have declared much earlier and let their bowlers bowl a lot more over before the end of day’s play. Vaughan also pointed out that England is being cautious by dragging their innings and giving an opportunity to India to draw the Test match.

“So you think @root66 is doing the right thing and not declaring? Need more runs? Surely should be bowling now…”, Warne’s tweet read.

“I think he is being too cautious and is giving India a good chance of getting out of this Test with a draw”, Vaughan’s reply read.

Stuart Broad Takes A Cheeky Dig At Micheal Vaughan

Meanwhile, England cricket also posted a post on Instagram, mentioning the ones, ‘moaning about their declaration’. Fast bowler Stuart broad who was not playing the opening sure made sure he had some fun and tagged Micheal Vaughan in the comment section that left everyone in splits.

“Think that’s aimed at you @michaelvaughan?!”, commented Broad with a laughing emoji.

Well, the tactics of England eventually proved to be spot-on as the wrapped the opening Test in the second session itself on day 5. The visitors won by a massive margin of 227 runs and registered a 1-0 lead in the Test series. Talking about the declaration Joe Root admitted that his side wanted to give a target of more than 400 to a strong Indian batting line-up.

“We could have declared earlier, for sure, we could have. I wanted to make sure that there were only two results possible in this game. I wanted to make sure that we turned up today with the ball still being hard. We wanted to give our bowlers an extra bit of time to be raring to go”, Root told the reporters.

“We wanted to get to 400 and then we wanted to press the accelerator. Actually, it was going to be really important that we had runs on the board as it was a fast outfield”, he added.

Micheal Vaughan was disappointed not to see Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI of India in the first Test. Before the Test series, it was assumed that the management will play Kuldeep Yadav after Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the series. However once again Kuldeep Yadav was sidelined that wasn’t appreciated by fans and experts on social media.

The left-arm unorthodox spinner sat on the bench throughout the Australian tour even after so many injuries to Indian bowlers. In the opening Test at Chennai, team India picked Shahbaz Nadeem ahead of Kuldeep Yadav which shocked everyone. Vaughan on Twitter questioned the decision of not picking the left-arm spinner and said if Kuldeep will not play in India with so many injury issues then where will he get his opportunity.

Ridiculous decision not to play Kuldeep Yadav- Micheal Vaughan

“Ridiculous decision by #India not to play @imkuldeep18!!! If he isn’t going to play at home with the injuries they have when is he going to play !!! #INDvENG,” Vaughan tweeted.

Meanwhile, Vaughan among other former cricketers believed that Kuldeep would have added variety in the Indian bowling attack. The talented spinner was again unlucky to miss out as India went in with Ravichandran Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Nadeem. The trio wasn’t able to make an impact as England scored a mammoth 578 in the first innings of the Chennai Test match.

The visitors made full use of the batting-friendly conditions and punished the Indian bowlers. Somebody like a Kuldeep would have surely taken the pitch out of the equation and troubled the England batsmen.

The 26-year-old will be hoping to make a comeback in the second Test which will again be played at Chennai. Kuldeep Yadav has so far played 6 Tests matches in which he has picked 24 wickets including 2 wicket hauls against Australia.

Justin Langer has slammed Micheal Vaughan for the Tweet he did following the Steve Smith episode at SCG. Smith was seen removing Rishabh Pant’s batting guard which Vaughan termed as “very very poor”. This tweet wasn’t taken lightly by Langer as he declared that Vaughan was out of line.

The Australia head coach spoke about the Smith incident and said that everything that is being said is ludicrous. Langer continued that Smith was just thinking about his batting and wasn’t trying to unsettle by getting rid of the batting guard of Rishabh Pant.

Micheal Vaughan was out of line- Justin Langer

Langer pointed out that the day 5 SCG surface was like a concrete and Smith would have needed 15 inches spikes to mess up Pant’s guard. Coming back to Vaughan, an animated Langer declared that he does these comments only because he makes a living out of it.

“Everything said about Steve Smith is absolutely ludicrous … The wicket at the SCG was like concrete, he would’ve needed 15-inch spikes to do what people were accusing him of doing and messing up Pant’s guard”.

“We’ve laughed about how all he thinks about is batting. He was just standing there, thinking about batting. He is 100 percent innocent in this. Give me a break, I’ve never heard so much rubbish in my life”. he added.

“I’ve actually spoken to Darren Gough about it and rang him last night. I spoke to Michael Vaughan as well, I thought he was out of line actually. You get it from some, but I don’t expect it from (someone like Vaughan). I know he makes a living out of making those sorts of comments, but I thought he was out of line,” Langer told the press ahead of the 4th Test at Gabba, Brisbane.

Meanwhile, even the Austalia skipper Tim Paine supported Smith by claiming that he was just visualizing how he would bat on that SCG surface. It will be interesting to see how Smith answers his critics in the final Test match at Brisbane which begins from January 15.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore yesterday somehow survived and qualified for IPL 2020 playoffs. Virat Kohli’s side was defeated by Delhi Capitals however based on their healthy net run rate they sneaked in the playoffs. Even after progressing further in the season, Michael Vaughan maintains that RCB will not be able to win IPL.

RCB has always been tagged as the underachievers of IPL as they still haven’t the IPL title. After 3 years RCB has managed to reach the top 4 and will now play the eliminator in the playoffs with either Sunrisers Hyderabad or Kolkata Knight Riders.

I Don’t Think RCB Can Win IPL – Michael Vaughan

Coming back to Michael Vaughan the former England captain stated that collectively as a team RCB doesn’t have it in them to go all the way this season. In the last few matches, the over-dependency on Kohli and Ab de Villiers has once again come to the fore as RCB has lost their last 4 matches.

“Can the RCB team win it this year? I’ve said that from the beginning, I don’t think they’ve got enough collectively to win it”, Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

“Look anything is possible particularly in 2020, the world’s been turned upside down so who knows what’s gonna happen. Virat Kohli might bat left-handed and win them the game but it’s a tall order,” Michael Vaughan said on RCB’s chances to win IPL 2020.

Meanwhile, RCB would have life relatively easy for them if they registered a win against Delhi Capitals. Unfortunately for them DC was better on the day and made it top the 2 hence will be now playing the qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians.

Furthermore, Michael Vaughan added that RCB as a complete unit doesn’t have the firepower to win the trophy. It is not one or two individuals in a side that help them win the IPL, the entire side has to put their hand up and deliver under pressure. Eventually, Vaughan summed it up by saying that RCB will only have a chance if they come out and play aggressive cricket.

“I look at teams and individuals and see are there enough individuals in the RCB team full of confidence to play in the pressure that they would be under. I guess the one thing in RCB’s favour is that they’ve got no other options but to play hard and aggressive cricket,” Michael Vaughan concluded.

The Rajasthan Royals registered a miraculous win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020. After the conclusion of the first innings, mentor of Royals Shane Warne was confident about his sides win.

Interestingly Warne who was following the match from the stadium made a bold prediction. The Australian had a strong vibe about the Royals winning in the 18th over itself.

“Spot on with my vibe today. The boys were outstanding with the ball and on the field! SRH 15/20 short of a good score. The @rajasthanroyals boys will get these in the 17/18th over #HallaBol,” Warne tweeted.’

However, this prediction was looking incredibly unachievable in the last 5 overs. It seemed that SRH will comprehensively attain the match and Royals will be handed their 5th consecutive defeat in IPL 2020.

Meanwhile, seeing the contest heavily in favour of SRH, Warne’s good friend Micheal Vaughan took a jibe at Warne and wrote “No Chance King.” Like everyone else Vaughan too believed that the Royals had no chance of going past the total of SRH.

Eventually, the tweet came to backfire Vaughan as Rajasthan Royals did the unthinkable and pulled off an incredible heist. Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag batted out of their skins and took their side home in an unlikely victory.

Understandably after the historic win, Warne too settled a score with Vaughan. The former legendary spinner tagged Vaughan on Twitter and wrote, “Sorry. @MichaelVaughan – What was that you were saying about the @rajasthanroyals?”.

The Rajasthan Royals mentor as expected was all pumped up after his side turned things around and ended up on the winning side. When RR needed 2 from 2 balls in the last over, teenager Parag smashed a six and sealed the match for his side in a crucial match in IPL 2020.

The IPL 2020 carnival has finally begun in the United Arab Emirates. With the start of the season, the game of predictions has also risen. Several cricket experts have had their say on which team will end up as champions of IPL 2020.

Recently former England captain, Micheal Vaughan picked the side who he thinks will lift the IPL trophy this year. Vaughan figures that the Kolkata Knight Riders coach Brendon McCullum will inspire his team and eventually make them winners of IPL 2020.

Vaughan predicts the champions of IPL 2020

“Kolkata Knight Riders will win the IPL. Baz McCullum as a coach. I just think they’ve got enough, and with him coaching, he’s just won the Caribbean Premier League, as a coach. I just think he’s going to have enough”, he said.

Further, Vaughan also believes that the KKR side this year has all bases covered and is studded with match-winners. With the likes of Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik in their ranks it makes them significant contenders to lift the IPL trophy this year.

“There’s plenty there for them to be competitive. Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, Pat Cummins, probably won’t play all games, Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana. Lots of quality in there. It might be that they don’t have enough power in their batting. But there you go. Kolkata Knight Riders are your IPL champions,” Vaughan concluded.

Meanwhile, two-time champions KKR kick off their IPL 2020 campaign against the Mumbai Indians. The match will be contested on 23 September at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Furthermore, last year KKR narrowly missed out on the IPL playoffs birth and finished 5th in the table. The Dinesh Karthik led side will be hoping for an improved show and win their 3rd IPL title on November 10.
