Mumbai Indians are announcing their comeback into the top four and certainly redefining the word “defending champions”. They defeated Kolkata Knight Riders for the eighth consecutive time and ecstatic to be in the fourth spot with a greater NRR than top three teams.
Meanwhile, the MI management has started a series of “Kal ke sitaare” in their Twitter handle releasing the videos on the youngster”s journey before joining the camp. This time it”s none other than Hardik Pandya who featured in it.
The youngster who received his Indian cap in 2016 has been one of the most indispensable assets in all three formats right now. Speaking of his childhood, Hardik mentioned that he was one of the naughtiest guys and never made friends. He also indulged in a lot of fights during the street cricket matches because of which even Krunal lost most of his friends.
He also put forward his love of different hairstyles and colours. In his training days, he used to give stupid excuses to his coach and used to say to him that the colour accidentally fell on his hair when he went to the salon.
“I used to trouble my mom a lot. Even Krunal. Being WWE fans, me and Krunal used to try several finishing moves at home. I broke a lot of beds trying the “choke slam” and “rock bottom””, Hardik mentioned.
Hardik has been one of the most consistent performers for Indian limited overs for quite some time. He even bagged the Man of the series award in the home series against Australia and proved to be a valuable asset even at No:4 positions. He along with Dhoni is making things easy in the lower order and this will be an interesting thing to watch out at the 2019 World cup.
Hardik Pandya also admitted that anger is one of his main enemies and he used to get extreme levels of anger at his early 11 or 12 years of age.” Later, I realized that anger is not the solution to every problem and it brings negativity to life. I try to turn my anger to motivation and cricket field is one of them where I can do that”, he added.
It is to be noted that Hardik scored over 188 runs and added 16 wickets to his bag in this edition and is looking strong on the field. He along with his brother Krunal are playing a vital role in the middle order adding strength to the MI lineup.
Hardik made his debut for the Mumbai Indians franchise in the year 2015 and he said that he felt MI camp as his “family” and will continue to represent for many seasons from now.
