Team India Cricketer’s Wife Extends Public Support To Dhanashree Verma After Recent Podcast

Devisha Shetty, wife of Team India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, has voiced her support for Dhanashree Verma. In the Humans of Bombay podcast, Dhanashree spoke about her divorce from leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, sharing her perspective on the situation.

She also addressed Chahal’s appearance in court wearing a t-shirt that read “Be your own sugar daddy” during the proceedings. After the podcast episode, Devisha shared an Instagram story in support of Dhanashree, writing:

“So much respect and love for you.”

Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal legally parted ways in March 2025 after the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai granted them a divorce. The couple, who got married in December 2020, decided to end their marriage of over four years, citing compatibility issues.

“I Had to Stay Strong to Make My Parents Feel Better”– Dhanashree Verma on Facing Trolling After Divorce

Speaking for the first time about the online trolling she faced following the separation, Dhanashree shared her thoughts on the podcast (via The Indian Express):

“I had to stay strong to make my parents feel better. We belong to this generation, so we know not to pay attention to negative comments, but how do you explain that to your parents? My parents’ friends would call them. ‘Yeh kya ho gaya? (What has happened); It was a delicate situation because I also needed strength, and so did my parents”

She also voiced her displeasure over Chahal’s viral t-shirt during the divorce proceedings. Pointing out that her ex-husband could have conveyed the message privately through a text rather than making a public jibe, she said (via India Today):

“You know that people are going to blame you. Before I had even known that this T-shirt stunt had happened, we were all aware that people were going to blame me for this. Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyu pehna hai? (You should have sent it on WhatsApp. Why wear the T-shirt?)”
