Team India Skipper Virat Kohli signs a deal with a County Team ahead of England tour

Ahead of big England tour starting, Virat Kohli signed for Surrey County in all formats from June onwards. The Indian captain has decided to skip the Afghanistan test match to be played from 14th June to 18th June at Bangalore.

The Surrey county decided to bring Mitchell Marsh as their overseas player but due to bad performance of Virat Kohli in England conditions during 2014 tour, the Indian captain decided to sign for Surrey to gain confidence ahead of big England tour starting from 3rd June.

Virat Kohli is one the best batsman in the world. He is currently number 1 ODI batsman and number 2 in test matches. India will face a tough England tour that comprises 3 T20I’s, 3 ODI’s and 5 test matches.

The Indian captain has lots of experience with him in all formats. In ODI format, Kohli has 35 ODI centuries and is third in a list of most centuries by a batsman in 50 over format. During 2014 tour of England, Kohli just managed 134 runs from 10 innings. His overall career average in test matches has been brilliant with 53.40 with 21 centuries.

Team India Skipper Virat Kohli, After signing for Surrey County Cricket Club said: “It has long been an ambition of mine to play county cricket and I am thankful to Alec Stewart and Surrey for allowing me the opportunity to join them during their 2018 season. I can’t wait to get to the Kia Oval.”

India is currently the number 1 test side and will face a tough challenge in the 5 match test series. Before test matches, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the Indian will play 3 T20I’s and 3 ODI’s. These county stints will the Indian players more time to get used to England conditions.

In the previous tour to England, the Indian lost the series 1-3 and would be looking to improve his team’s overseas record. With Kohli deciding to sign county season for Surrey, it will definitely help Indian Cricket team to win in England.

In the 2018 test series against South Africa in South Africa, the Indian Cricket team lost the 3 match series 1-2 due to poor performances of the batsman. Kohli was leading runs scorer in that series.
