Team India Support Staff Granted Contract Extention For WI Tour

The World Cup 2019 has finally come to an end, but the dull faces still exist among the Indian fanbases. The dismal batting display against the kiwis costed the ticket to the finals. The players are now reaching their respective homes and will enjoy a three-week break ahead of the all-format West Indies tour.

The latest news from the BCCI is that all the members of the support staff have been granted an extension for a period of 45 days. Hence it is now clear that there will not be any change of roles till the Caribbean tour starting from August 3rd. Ravi Shastri, Sanjay Bangar and Bharat Arun will now travel with the Indian side for the overseas tour which spans out for a month.

This news comes as a relief for the coaching staff as Sanjay Bangar was under the scanner for not turning the batting order in few of the games. The contenders for the positions aren’t known yet and it will be interesting who will be throwing a ball in this court. The BCCI is wanting a few changes in the management, but the further steps will be decided after Kohli and Ravi Shastri’s meet with the CoA and the BCCI officials.

This has raised a several eyebrows among the Indian cricket enthusiasts and they are waiting eagerly to see who will voluntarily come forward to apply the role. It is worth noting that the Indian side hasn’t won a single ICC event under the guidance of Ravi, who was also the team director before taking up the role of a coach. Anil Kumble was appointed as the coach in 2016 but didn’t last for a longer period due to the differences between him and the skipper.

Star Indian Player Unlikely To Take Part In The West Indies Tour

Alongside the support staff, a new physio is also set to be roped into the side as Patrick Farhat has just stepped aside from the role after the tournament. A lot of renovations are under store for the team management and it will be interesting to see who will grab the spots.
