CSK fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman received a signed jersey from legendary wicketkeeper MS Dhoni before returning to Bangladesh following his IPL 2024 stint.
Mustafizur has departed from the CSK camp and will not participate further in the season as he is set to represent Bangladesh in a T20I series against Zimbabwe. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the pacer expressed gratitude to Dhoni for the valuable lessons he gained during his time at CSK.
Accompanied by a photo of himself and MS Dhoni, here’s Mustafizur Rahman’s message:
“Thanks for everything Mahi bhai. It was a special feeling to share the same dressing room with a legend like you. Thanks for keeping faith in me everytime. Appreciating your valuable tips, I will remember those things. Looking forward to meeting and playing with you again soon.”

According to a report from The Daily Star, Mustafizur is anticipated to participate in the last two matches of the five-game T20I series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, commencing on May 3.
Mustafizur Rahman leaving makes CSK’s bowling problems worse
CSK bowling coach Stephen Fleming discussed the challenges the team faces due to missing players in their bowling lineup.
With Mustafizur Rahman’s departure for Bangladesh, and Tushar Deshpande sidelined due to illness and Matheesha Pathirana nursing a niggle, CSK was without their services for their match against Punjab Kings at the Chepauk.
Additionally, there’s a possibility of Deepak Chahar being sidelined for some time due to an injury that forced him to leave the field. Fleming addressed this situation when speaking to reporters.
“There are a lot of ins and outs. Chahar’s injury does not look good. The initial feeling was not great, so I am hoping for a positive report when the physio and doctor have a look.”
“Richard Gleeson (debutant) was good, it was a positive. Losing Mustafizur, there is a lot happening. Tushar has a flu, we lost him and had to make a few changes, which is unusual.”
Chennai Super Kings will have a swift changeover as they prepare to take on Punjab once more, this time in Dharamsala on May 5. Fleming is optimistic that he will have both Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana ready for that match.
