Team India batter Virat Kohli’s batting prowess was on display during the fourth and final Test against Australia in the 2023 Border Gavaskar Trophy on Sunday, March 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He ended his century drought in Test cricket, with a fantastic knock in the innings.
Virat Kohli walked out to bat at number four, when India was at 187/2, trailing by 293 runs. He and Shubman Gill put together a decent partnership for team India. The duo added 58 runs for the third-wicket stand. After Gill’s dismissal, Kohli had good partnerships with Ravindra Jadeja and KS Bharat. They took Team India to a formidable position in the match.
In the 139th over, Virat Kohli flicked Nathan Lyon for a single to get to his century. This is his 28th century in Test cricket, while 75th across formats. The batter was struggling to get a big score in red-ball cricket for India for a long time. Previously, his last test century was against Bangladesh in 2019. The former India skipper has broken the shackles with his brilliant knock against Australia.
Let’s take a look at how fans reacted to Virat Kohli’s century against Australia in the fourth test of the 2023 Border Gavaskar Trophy:

That celebration from Virat Kohli, the reserved raise of the bat and the kiss to the wedding ring, after that century is a sign of where he seems to be in life & where his priorities are currently. Extremely mature & in love with his family #IndvAus

May not have had the chutzpah and sizzle of ild, but such a splendid century by #Kohli. Comes at a vital stage in his career, and also crucial in the context of the match with India looking to take a first innings lead. Well played! 👏👏

Been a long while coming… and it was always coming on this pitch. Not cos it's easier but cos Virat Kohli showed his class on tougher pitches in Delhi and Indore.
Still, a tough grind. A very welcome💯! #IndvAus
