The ICC Reveal The Match Officials For The 2024 T20 World Cup Semi-Finals

Officials announced the semi-final line-up for the T20 World Cup in 2024 on Tuesday, 25 June. The first game of the day, between South Africa and Afghanistan in Trinidad, to be played on 26 June, and the on field umpire will be England’s Richard Illingworth and Indian Nitin Menon.

England’s Richard Kettleborough may be the TV umpire , while Pakistan’s Ahsan Raja can be the fourth empire. New Zealand’s Chris Gaffney and Australia’s Rodney Tucker will be the on-field umpires for the second semi-final match among India and England.

West Indies’ Joel Wilson will be the TV umpire, and  the fourth umpire will be former Australian fast bowler Paul Reiffel. India is scheduled to play England within the semi-final match on Wednesday, June 27 in Guyana.

Additionally, West Indian Richie Richardson is probably the match referee for the South Africa-Afghanistan semi-final match, whereas New Zealand’s Geoffrey Crowe will handle the same position within the India-England match.

June 27: England (Guyana) v India

Here are the four semifinalists in terms of what they stand to gain

Each of the four teams took a distinctive place to the 2024 T20 World Cup semi-finals, every with a special stake.

Previously India and England have gained T20 World Cups, South Africa and Afghanistan have not reached the ICC World Cup finals yet . India may be aiming for a second World Cup trophy, having won the primary edition in the 2007 version.

For India, winning would mark their first ICC title in over a decade, with their last being the 2013 Champions Trophy. For England, another title would mean consecutive T20 World Cup victories and their third overall, following wins in 2010 and 2022.

A victory for South Africa or Afghanistan would be ancient, as it would be their first-ever World Cup name in any layout. As the semi-finals approach, India and South Africa remain unbeaten in the event, while England and Afghanistan have each suffered  losses on their manner to the knockouts.

England claimed their first T20 World Cup trophy within the West Indies during the 2010 version. The grand finale is on Saturday, June 29, in Barbados.
