Former Australian cricket player Brett Lee has selected the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as his favorite team to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. In Lee’s opinion, KKR has a solid squad lineup and has been playing well throughout the competition.
He also said that the team’s potent bowling attack and flexibility in handling a variety of playing situations are the main reasons for their success.
Apart from Sunil Narine, who is an all-rounder and has amassed 482 runs in 13 innings, all of KKR’s players are in excellent form ahead of the crucial final. A formidable middle order is formed by him, skipper Shreyas Iyer (345 runs), Venkatesh Iyer (318 runs), and Andre Russell (222 runs).
When it comes to controlling the opposition hitters with the ball, Varun Chakravarthy (20 wickets), Harshit Rana (17 wickets), Narine (16 wickets), Russell (16 wickets), Mitchell Starc (15 wickets), and Vaibhav Arora (10 wickets) have done an amazing job.
“KKR going to win this IPL”- Brett Lee
Former Australian cricket player Brett Lee discussed Kolkata’s possibilities in the current season, saying that he had great expectations from RCB but that they were eliminated in Qualifier 2 after losing to RR.
On paper, though, and in its current shape, he said, Kolkata is a force to be reckoned with. They were also referred to as the competition’s rightful champions by the 2012 IPL Champion.
“I picked RCB right from the top and I was disappointed when they got knocked out last night. But if you look at it on paper and in its current form, it will be tough to beat KKR. I think they’re probably the team that deserves to finish at the number one position. They’re straight through the finals on Sunday, so they’ll be pretty hard to beat,” Lee told ANI.
To get to the IPL 2024 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets behind the slamming half-centuries of Venkatesh and Shreyas Iyer.
To earn a ticket to the final, SRH and RR will play each other in Qualifier 2 on May 24 in Chennai. The winner of the game will face KKR in the summit match at the same location on May 26.
