David Warner has urged Cricket Australia to clarify the ball-changing incident that occurred during the unofficial Test match between Australia A and India A in Mackay. Indian players were unhappy at the event, which happened when on-field umpires switched the match ball prior to play on the last day.

Umpire Shawn Craig and Indian wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan got into a heated argument about the judgment, and Kishan was given a warning. The Indian team questioned the umpires’ decision and voiced their displeasure with the ball adjustment.

“When you scratch it, we change the ball”- David Warner

Former Australian opener David Warner wants Cricket Australia to be more forthcoming about the event. He underlined how crucial it is to communicate clearly and consistently while making umpiring decisions. Warner’s remarks emphasize the necessity for cricket authorities to resolve the issue and offer precise rules in order to prevent future conflicts of this nature.

“When you scratch it, we change the ball. There will be no more discussion; let’s play. This is not a discussion; you will be playing with that ball,” on-field umpire Shawn was quoted as saying to the Indian players on the field before the start of play. I think the ultimate decision’s with CA, isn’t it?” Warner told reporters.

“I think they’ve obviously squashed it as fast as they could, given that India’s coming out here this summer. But if the umpires deem that something happened, then I’m sure there’ll be a follow-up, and I think the umpires or the match referee should be standing here answering those questions. The match referee should be coming out and addressing his own staff, who are the umpires, and if they’re sticking by the umpire’s decisions, then you’ve got to stand up for that” David Warner said.

“I think that’s obviously a statement that CA probably needs to release,” he added.

Warner was suspended for 12 months in March 2018 for his role in a ball tampering incident.
